Thanks axilom. But I'm afraid those are not for spot photometry you need to work with light as subjects i think
Can you try taking a direct shot at a flashlight? like this..
A pic like that from a normal camphone without spot photometry feature would have been blurred. Unless I'm very much mistaken, as Masseur's sig says

@max
I'll be quoting you then
Spot metering indeed only read a small point of an area. There are also other techniques like multi-spot metering for advanced camera modules. I tried to snap some close up pics directly at a flash light. Without spot photometry, it should overexpose the photo. But it isn't the case here. I got a good quality light exposure.

That may be due to centre-weighted averaging, which is a compromise between full frame average metering and centre spot metering so may explain the result?

@max_wedge
That maybe the case based on the pics I've taken.
btw, Is the camera module of w810i the same as k750 and w800 camera modules? I wonder if k750/w800 pics will render different results.
@axilom
Lighted candle in a dark room will be perfect

I think the w810 and k750 are the same, but that's only a guess (they look the same when disassembled)
