in Romania ,on Orange ,with 4 USD /month you get wap unlimeted, it doesn't matter how many MB. On Vodafone with 3 USD/month you get 10 MB of traffic and 1 cent(usd) per 10 kb if you go over those 10 MB

Which network are you on that charges £7.5 for unlimited 3g/gprs.

Orange charges £75 per month for that.

Its called t-mobile Web & Walk.

I find that when I am downloading a large file it is slow to start and then speeds up to around 50kb/s.

I was wondering myself and found this one (HMTL light and WAP):
http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed?jisok=1

It works on my K610 and measured 280kbit/s.

Be patient - it takes some time, depending on testdata size...

dslreports is good for testing speed in the US. If you're testing from outside of North America, the latency will be too high resulting in slow rate of download. Basic download protocols verify after each packet is sent, so if you're far from the source, your latency will be high. To do a true test of the speed, you need to see if your service provider hosts such a test service - this will be the most realistic test of your 3G speed.
