I know these may be preliminary images, but why are the recessed parts larger on the silver than the black?

The Nokia 88 - series (with metal casing) always cost MUCH during it's initial release . . . 8850, 8855, 8890 (maybe we can add the 8910/8910i models too) ! Not WORTH the buy, I agree with Masseur here, just to/for show-off . . also, the casing is as heavy as a hollow-block !

@JN
But if was as light as a feather, it wouldn't feel very luxurious would it?

very very ugly.
Never liked 88xx series except Nokia 8850 and 8855.
The rest are crap and super ugly.
I will never buy these ones. Not worth the money. |

8910 was on to something with titanium casing, just a shame 8 series are about looks without performance to back them up..... |

Thanks
For people who didn't know, light is more reflective off of a white surface than a black surface and therefore more can be seen, why a room may appear to be bigger or smaller than it actually is
Same with the dimple on this new 8800.
I think I'll be getting this one anyway..

Argh.... now this will appeal to more people
2MP camera etc... I was a bit unhappy about the 8800 having a camera, as I think that's why more people now have it over it's predocessors. Giving it a 2MP one will make a LOT more people want it.
Grrrrrrrrreat, there goes exclusivity.
I was under the impression this series of phone wasn't about features, but more about the build quality and exclusivity, sure more people would think a vertu is better suited for this... but lets not get silly.
And also why announce an upgrade after a year, I was hoping there would at least be a few years, it's Nokia's flagship phone, and as an owner of this phone, suddenly I don't feel so speical.
I loved having an 8850, for a few years I had the most desirable phone out, and didn't know a single person with it... and now 8 of my friends, and a few cousins have an 8800, which is soon to be outdated anyway.
Just hope it doesn't become too common.
Meh... i'll probably buy this anyway, I just hope the price is ridiculously high.
