Also turn off 3G if its not strong in your area... most of the county where i live is poor for 3g, i note that 2 days max was all i was getting before.... it goes for twice as long now that i've turned of UTMS or whatver the hell it s called.

You can start the phone in flight mode instead, then the battery will last even longer .

IMHO I don't see the point in shutting off 3G on a 3G phone. There exist a number of other models on the market without 3G that are much cheaper than the K800 but with almost the same or better functionality otherwise, if you are not interrested in the extra functionality and performance that 3G offers. But it's true that the 3G option consumes much more battery power than 2G, especially in areas with bad reception, but that's true for 2G also, the phone consumes more power where the 2G reception is poor also, that's a general rule for all GSM and UMTS phones.

About draining the li-ion batteries, you should not drain the batteries totally, that may reduce the future capacity due to the design and chemistry involved inside the battery. It's better to charge more often, or whenever there is an opportunity, like, for example, if you put it in the car holder or a desk stand at home or office.

The first 5-10 charging cycles should be from almost drained to full without interruptions for best battery life however, again, this is due to the molecular structure on the electrodes inside the battery.

The first 5-10 charging cycles will also not reach the full charging capacity of the battery, there seems to be "more room" for extra charge after these initial charges.

When I got my K800, I put it on the charger directly, and after the battery was fully charged, it only lasted for about 12 hours before it was time for a recharge. The next chage lasted about 24 hours, and now after a couple of weeks' ownership, it lasts 3-4 days. It might also be because I'm not playing with it as much now as during the first days
