@jah

The deactivating and activating text options didn't help, I did a master reset and as soon as I disabled Auto Caps and Handwriting the problem happened again. Did another reset and it finally worked.

Thanx

I received the same error message as me when updating the firmware. How did you managed to overcome it in the end. My phone is completely useless now. Appreciate any advice. Thanks!

With the new frimware the phone restarted while installing and applying themes. Since when has applying themes become such a burden for a smart phone????

Well BT is the only component that has not changed - so perhaps..

I think I had first or second re-start ever a day ago and I noticed BT was active

@Gadgett

I realised that the updater hadn't downloaded the firmware in it's entirety and was trying to apply this incomplete firmware to the phone. Since i couldn't find a way to get the updater to redownload the firmware i ended up deleting the updater and it's installation directory frrom my pc. I reinstalled the updater and it worked.

Hope this helps

I am not happy with this update. I keep getting these bugs, some was from before and some are new.

Bug: Phone with headset connected.
Problem: Can’t disconnect call. Screen freeze.
Repeatable bug: Yes
Solution: Soft reset
Seriousness: High

Bug: New task not functioning
Problem: Can’t start a new task from start screen. I click on the “V” icon on the top left, than new, than task and I get “wrongful request” warning text.
Repeatable bug: Yes
Solution: Click on “continue” than go to the main menu, open “office”, click on “tasks” than “new”
Seriousness: Low

Bug: Internet browser start
Problem: It takes long time to start Internet. Approximate 30-40 sec. Sometime phone freeze.
Repeatable bug: Yes
Solution: None. If freeze, than I have to do a hard reset, ie remove battery.
Seriousness: High

I hope Sony Ericsson is taking notes

Cheers

The news with IMAP are as follows:

The "corrupted" messages problems is gone. You can use IMAP idle and read the messages, which is good. However, you're never sure you will get the message in the first place. Very often, the message app gives me errors and needs to be closed, and most of the time, the messages don't come because the connexion is closed. I don't know how to make sure the connection is really always on.

Good, so we have confirmation that this is an established bug.

Thanks mate.

yeah, I get that too

2 1/2 days after the update the web app still opens almost immediately for me and its probably my most used app.

I'm purposely usnig task manager to close it down so I can keep an eye on its opening performance

Same to me: web is faster and cannot start a new task from the V icon.
But for the first time since a week I did not have any freeze or restart...
