why do you ask? I only had the housing myself, no innards.

no, i ment it in general, cos we started to talk abot cam slider or no cam slider. of course, a slider offers more protection then the w810 solution for example, but its pretty good placed, hard to brake imo

oh yeah, I'm with you now
Yeah, I have the same worry, but I got by that way with the K700 so it'll be no worse than that..

probably cos the lense is deeper than that ring and the cover, its hard to brake even the fone falls

yep, time will tell, but I can get a camera module for under $100 AU if worse comes to worse.

So that explains why the music plays backwards...
Oh well, one little fudge in this whole project!! Man at times I was shitting myself (especially pulling all the bits out of the old housing. I forgot to put the buttons in the new housing first time I installed the pcb. So I had to take it out again (tense, due to needing to be very careful of the camera cable), fit the buttons, then reassemble. After that I realise I'd left a little spring in the old housing, so I had to take it apart again to fit the spring correctly.
Eventually I got it all back together. I tested all buttons before final screw down, and they all worked so I guess I never thought to check closer. I'll swap it back when I take the phone apart again but I'm not gonna bother otherwise.

is your camera lense scratch or is it just stained or dirty?

scratched
But it doesn't affect pic quality yet - I will however be buying a new camera module since I've discovered this one has poorer night performance than other K750 cameras I've compared it against. Even with the W900/W800 hybrid cam drive from aksd, my cam module still has poor night performance.
Once I've decided if I'm going to fit the K750 back cover on or not, I'll swap the module. Until then I'll see how much more scratched it gets with the W810 back.

nice work would like 1 of those cases, a question how do you activate the camera? |

Mine has got a little scratched already, not as much as yours though (it's hardly noticeable, actually), so if it hasn't affected pic quality for you is kind of a relief for me. I wonder if the k750 cam module is compatible with the w810's. One thing for certain, SE should build their cameras with a more scratch resistant lens glass.

nice work @max, I've always admired your craftsmanship with all the moddings you've done -- gutsy too!

haha! Thanks blackspot. Gutsy, or crazy, one or the other.
Now I'm looking at a possible mod that will give the W810 back cover a sliding lense cover like W800, that will activate the camera switch as well! Difficult, but possible. When I try, there's a good chance I'll destroy the w810 back completely and be forced back to the K750 back cover anyway
