thats because the walled gardens controlled by the network and not the phone

i didnt think vodafone did it, afaik only 3 do it so that you can only use their services and give them all your money

they removed the update managery thing because it isnt going to be able to connect to sonyericsson to update through the wall

there aint no way around it unfortunately
Mobile working solution:
Acer Aspire Gemstone Blue 6920G + DVB-T ExpressCard + Merlin XU870 + 3 5GB/mo Mobile Broadband
HTC TyTN II + T-Mo Flext 25 W'n'W
Nokia 5300 + T-Mo Everyone PAYG

I'm not too good with phones but in the internet browser > more > options > other > status

profile: 3browse Locked

Would it be possible to create a new profile that has everything enabled? Just a thought.
Anyone with a bit more experience care to comment, or am I just clutching at straws?

I think the only way round the 3 wall would be to switch networks, wap access is through a proxy through the 3 network. One of the joys of having another SIM when with 3 is you can use them for WAP access (although I am seriously considering keeping the el cheapo phone I got from 3 and either sticking with Tesco for all my communication needs or switching to another network, like going back to Virgin again so I can enjoy 3G access of open WAP)

i got my k800i last weekend aswell yes k800i on 3 they did a soft branded the UI but the icons are really cool not like voda. but i buy the handset outright because am still paying my n90 but the cool thing about it is they let it unlocked the handset before they give it to me with losing the warranty, so i could use other sim card on it i could surf anywhere and update my rss
it was few days since it was available here in australia and everyone love it and i think they will have it on bronze color soon.

Hi. i got my k800i on '3' at the weekend. seems a really nice phone and the camera is fantastic.

it didn't come with a memory card - i presume it wasn't meant to?

i was surprised to find that even without a memory card i could still use it to transfer files to my mac! : )

one issue i'm unsure about though is the '3' branding - it doesn't seem too bad on the phone and menus etc, but using the web browser seems pretty difficult - it seems i can only go to websites that are recommended by '3' or something

what's all that about?

for example, if i 'enter address' http://www.google.com it either does nothing, or goes to a '3' screen telling me they recommend certain websites etc

can't i go wherever I want!?

i've never been on '3' before

help!
