Why would o2 or any other company for that matter take out the memory card though? Its not as if they can do anything with it!

o_O Who knows?
My dad bought a K700 from 'The Link' - a UK phone shop, and they took away the USB Cable...

Surely o2 and other companies don't just order a generic batch of phones from SE? I don't know how it works but I would have thought that after they've tested and finalised their customised firmware, surely they'd get SE to load it on as the phones are built? That way the phones they receive are ready to send to stores and customers..?
If this is the case and they don't customise the phones themselves after they're delivered (which to me would be the logical idea) then they could include whatever they like in the box? If they'll build a customised phone, why not change what's in there?
As for WHY o2 etc would choose not to put a memory card in, well that's a different matter altogether...... |

I bought 4 K700's from different shops in different countries at different times and as far as I know, the K700 never came with a USB cable. I just checked my review pics too and none there.
its still surprises me that there was no M2 memory stick in either K800 I got, one from CPW/o2 and one from Hong Kong

Yes it did, well the K700 has been very very popular where I live in the UK (Somerset, South-West) and all of my friends and people I know that have got a K700 have recieved a K700 USB Cable and Software CD as well, you know the Sony Ericsson file manager etc. They're all putting themes and videos on all the time via the computer...

Well the guy from o2 I talked to had to check with his collegue about it and said that all the k800i's should have a memory card with it, and I should give them a call tomorrow if I was unhappy with it.

I just recieved feedback from Sony Ericsson...
This is what should be included in the K800 package/box, any change, addition or loss is due to the company or network that you bought your K800 from not Sony...
The Sony Ericsson K800 standard phone kit should contain:
- Mobile phone K800
- Standard battery BST-33
- Standard charger CST-60
- MemoryStick M2 64mb memory card
- Memory Stick Duo™ adaptor
- USB-cable
- HPM-70 headphones, stereo, 3.5mm jack
- User Guide
- Quick Guide
- CD with software
Just thought I should let you guys/girls know.

In the "Whats included in the box" which comes with the official SE instruction theres no sign of a M2 memory stick mentioned.
How did you get this feedback from SE? if its an email then you've going to have to forward this to everyone in order to make a complaint. |

maybe this is a stupid thing to say, but a 3.5mm jack? the phone doesnt have a 3.5m socket.
The headphones I got in have the same dodgey connection as the charger |

yes thats all well and good, but did that come from an email address? with an official SE email address CPW wont have a leg to stand on, we will need official documentation.
in the mean time I found this:
"The phone is equipped with an MP3 player that is identical to the players used in all other Walkman models. In other words, files are once again sorted by artist and album name. The phone comes with a pair of standard earphones and 64MB of internal memory. If you need an additional memory card, you will have to buy it separately as no such one is delivered in the box."
Taken from - http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_preview-review-72.php
but also this...
"Before we start, though, I should warn you that the phone we tested was a beta version so there are some bugs we found and we are more than sure that they would be fixed in the final version. We won't mention those as we go along the review though, because the bugs are a pretty common thing in a pre-release version. As regards the retail package, the box should include a stereo headset, a USB cable and a 64MB Memory Stick Micro (M2) card along with a Memory Stick Duo Pro adapter but as we have always said - the contents of the retail package are market and country dependant."
Taken from same site, different review. http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_preview-review-72.php

Email added above...
And yeah the sites saying different things is wierd, but maybe they are basing their reviews on the phone (usually prototypes) and its other contents that they recieved rather than what the official package is meant to be.
