I do like SE but they really have nothing to wow me at the moment, i was waiting for the P990 but that is taking too long.
As long as the camera is "decent" i can cope and the battery well im using a 8800 at the moment and need to charge that every day so im used to it.
Hmm i think ill have to go into a shop and try both of them out when the K800 is out |

Well I'm a lucky one and do have both phones.
Had the N80 for about 2 months and the K800 for 2 days,
N80 Plus Points,
Screen, Menu System, Ease of use, Features, video calling and video recording, size of phone, wifi, quad band, email, flash player, java, real player, music player, internet browsing, speed on 3g and what came with the phone in the box, 128mb memory card, phono jack and the compute software is fantastic, phone also told you in kb and mb what it had used on the wap and internet, ptt and edge.
Negative points,
Camera is crap no matter what day or night, In night just forget it. K700 takes better photos. phone randomly crashes, memory leaks with symbian, keeps loosing the memory card, internet will crash after a few pages and crash the phone, Battery is shocking 2 days at normal use and i mean normal use dont expect any more. File manager is not as good as Se and long winded, Bluetooth and WIFI can be both stubborn some times, phone is slow and sometimes unresponsive, for a software upgrade you have to take it into the shop and only 41mb of internal memory. This is not always good, if you send a file of bluetooth to the phone it wont accept it, you have to tell the sms system to work of the memory card, this then looses all your saved words.
SMS isnt as good as Se and no smilies in sms as this is a business phone.
K800 Plus Points
Camera is out standing, menus are fast, speed of 3g and web browsing, update phone over the air or through the computer, sms is much better and you can see what words you hav saved, sms counter and mms counter, phone is lighter and feels better in the hand, screen and handles the network better when transfering to and from 3g. hasnt crashed yet (lol)
Negative points,
Normal video camera poor, 3g videoing isnt as clear at the other end. People are saying that i look blured all the time and blocky.
No memory card in the box and no phono adapter.
no edge and no wifi(altho this is not a businedd phone i know) Quad band missing? phone doesnt play all mp4 videos which is a shame.
What would i choose.
well after owning the nokia for a while and the se for a couple of days, i would choose the se over the nokia.
Why!
Ease of use, camera and it looks nicer.
Battery is so much better, i dont have to charge every night and using the usb cable also chargers the phone.
Any more info then please ask or email me.
both phones have the latest firmware versions installed and both generic unlocked phones.

I just sold my N80 on eBay and got the K800i
it was all the little touches and the N80 does take its time to do things and seem to get it self confused etc.
So far my K800i is everything I expected, I wont be straying from SE again |

if you want a smartphone, then wait abit longer for the P990i, it isn't long now.
if you want a really good phone, then go for the K800i, we all know SE makes good phones, and has always given us good succesors.
With Ericsson and Nokia gone: we must keep their spirits alive and buy JOLLA or YOTA |

K800 will get old pretty quickly, as there's nothing really to shout about in it.
N80 will be regarded as one of the best sliders ever, and forget about it being getting out dated for atleast 2 years. |

k800 = multi AF
n80 = no AF oly fixed focus with macro mode.
k800 = poor video quality
n80 = NIICEE video quality.

N80 is a smartphone, those two can't be compared like this |

hmm i suppose you are both correct im some ways, i will always remember the n80 for its uniqueness.
unlike the k800i i will not remember it aswell, more as an addition to the k series sony ericsson fones.
Ericsson->Alcatel->Nokia5110->Nokia3210->Nokia3310->Nokia3330->Nokia7210->Sony Ericsson k700i->Sony Ericsson k750i->Nokia N70->Nokia N80->Nokia N95 8GB-> iPhone 3G paoloangeles.bebo.com |

Can you "train" modern batteries? I was under the impression not! That even a partial charge doesn't count to a whole charge. All this bunk about charging your phone for 2.5 hours out of the box etc, garbage! My K750, was out the box and switched on and in use within 5 mins, i charged it for maybe an hour later in the day. It frequently ran for a week at a time between full charges, or longer if it got a 20 minute boost now and then plugged into USB on my PC!
My K800i will get exactly the same treatment.
I can vouch for the video quality on the K800i being rubbish, T in the park at the weekend, the Who didn't look so much look the Who and the What?
Camera quality is good though, although i don't recommend zooming beyond about 50% of the setting as you just get a nice blurred picture. |
