The N80 is a computer in a cellphone. If you are into computers then go for it otherwise . . . And yes it takes rather nice pictures althou it only has manual focus. If you are a student and your school/uni offers free wifi internet - you can use it with the N80. Video is nice too. I can't comment on the w900i. Greetings from South Africa. Mario :-)

mario2002: I totally agree. The N80 is a computer not a phone, cant comment on th w900 but the n80 is amazing.

The web browser is better than my standard PC we browser, easier to use and very intelligent.

The camera is superb also, very crisp sharp images. Auto focus not an issue for my uses.

The video camera quality is briliant, so glad I didn't wait the couple of weeks for the k800

WiFi. I can browse for free around the house without a problem. No extra cost!!

bluetooth keyboard, connect and all you do is type. makes it even simpler to use.

PCsuite. Is far superior to the last SE offering. Functionality like FMA but free with the phone.

Accessories included in the box. handsfree, 3.5mm adaptor, even a backward compatability convertor for the charger. Nokia have gone to a smaller plug for charged but are good enough to supply a convertor to allow you to use your old accessories.

Extra features: Ability to charge the phone while also using the pop port for headphones or MP£ output.

You can lso get sat nav software for it, that is next to be purchased.

For the few minor things I really wanted the K800 for (not sure if the k900 had them also), best pic, auto focus real flash, I am not disapointed with the N80.

Great device.

ps. 2 gb of memory for £25 from ebay. M2 would cost a tad more I think.

I also got the phone for free upgrade on an O2 online 200 monthly for £25 /month...coool

w900 benefits:

1. w900 has better camera and video features (30fps) especially under low light conditions.
2. Better battery life on regular-medium use.
3. Bigger keys! If you have big fingers, the top and bottom button rows and the combined menu/multimedia key of the n80 can take a while to get used to.
4. Generally cheaper. If you plan to upgrade to k900 this december, better get the cheaper w900 for the mean time.
5. Apps! Not that many apps written for the s60 9.1 yet. Could take a while before full blown apps hit the market (or your fav torrent site)
6. 480+mb useable mem on phone. Its nice to watch movies stutter free using the phone mem.

n80 benefits:

1. w900 looks a bit cartoony beside an n80. n80 looks a tad more elegant and refined.
2. Phone is awfully fast and user friendly. Browsing through tons of music, videos and pics is such a breeze through its nicely thought of user interface.
3. LCD screen's a lot easier to look at. Brighter and deeper colors, better pixel density, font smoothing, etc.
4. MiniSD cards generally sell cheaper and some are actually faster than MS Pro Duo cards.
5. Wifi!!! Not that easy to configure but works like a charm when it does. Couple that with the good built-in nokia web browser and its mobile web heaven. Don't forget the extra battery though (since the darn wifi eats up your battery like a rabid dog)
6. QuickOffice. You can actually use your phone to view (and on the premium version edit) MSOffice files.

Well, this is just some of the things I can think of. I have a w900i and my wife has an n80 so I'm pretty sure I know both phones firsthand. Both are great phones. Just get the one that fits your needs-for the meantime.

thanks for that docmac, really helpful.

How is the n80 video recording, i heard at night it is bad!!!
How are the headphones also, and which is built better docmac? w900 or n80? And which has bigger physical screen size. And is the n80 that much better than the w900 screen. I was under the impression the w900 had a great screen, maybe the n80 screen is just better...
Which one do you prefer?

cheers
