w800 supports up2 2gb under warenty the phone wasnt designeds to but it can but se can't garentie stability on the w800i current firmwaremaybe an upgrade someday will alo a limitless supply of MSD card space but atm w800i 2gb (stable) w810 4gb i use a 1gb card sandisk magic gate pro thingy very good but it did slow the phone down (mind u themes dont help)

Reading the card will only be slower when you go into folders with lot's of files in them. Playing audio, videos etc will not suffer from using a larger card. The phone will not be slower AT ALL using the bigger cards. Only the actual act of opening up folders with many files in them will be slower. This is because there are lot's of files (more than you can fit on smaller cards) and not actually due to the card itself.
As far as upper capacity goes, the MSDP achitecture can support up to 32GB of memory, so this is the hardware limit of memory the W800 (and K750 etc) can take. Think of a camera designed when 8MB MSD was all that was available - it can still use 100% reliably a 128MB MSD. The 128MB card is 16 times bigger than the card the camera was designed for, yet it can still use the card perfectly.
Likewise, there is no reason to think that the W800 will not be able to use 32GB of memory (which is only 8 times the capacity of a 2GB card which we know works fine). The K750 can address memory up to 32GB (in fact any phone that is M2 or MSD Pro compatible can do so).
