I was watching this program last night and some experts were saying that England has the best squad in the whole competition and this is the main reason to why England are one of the favourites to win. Many non-English teams coaches/managers and players etc think that this is England's year... another guy said that if England did win we in England wouldn't have finished celebrating by the next World Cup lol

Yip they definately do!!
But then again so does Brazil!

ENGLAND 1 - 0 PARAGUAY

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/[....]all/world_cup_2006/4852606.stm

"England got the opening win they were looking for, but the performance in the second half was less than convincing. Paraguay can take heart from their battling display, though they had no reward for their efforts."

It wasn't a perfect start to the World Cup, but the formation that we changed to meant spending the 2nd half sitting back and defending...

TRINIDAD & TOBAGO 0 - 0 SWEDEN

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/[....]all/world_cup_2006/4852634.stm

"Competing in their first finals, Trinidad and Tobago pulled off a famous result, showing tenacity and no lack of tactical discipline to hold the more favoured Sweden to a goalless draw. Playing against ten men for virtually the entire second half, Scandinavia’s sole representatives were unable to break through and will now have to regroup for their next match against Paraguay."

786 England didn't suck at all, it may have been the boring decision but the decision/tactic decided was to sit back and play on the break in the 2nd half and we still had our chances though weren't as strong up front without owen to assist crouch. overall we were the better side, and even did well with "a bit" of a bad ref.
