Rechargeable batteries started life as, Ni-Cad = Nickel Cadmium, these had memory, if you didn't drain THEM properly you might as well have bought some Duracell batteries. Then they moved on to Ni-MH = Nickel Metal Hidride, (not too sure on spelling) these were better. Then came Li-Ion = Lithium Ion and now we have Li-Polymer = Lithium Polymer, you can do what you want with the Lithium batteries! As everyone has already said... your phone will die before your battery does!
