@bart. Yeah, thats true. I would never have guessed it either. Makes them more useful I suppose.
I really like the colours on this phone, nice enough to match the colours of your snazzy Nike running gear in the gym |

@bart,
I agree - even I don't like clamshells - or for that matter, anything that twists, turns, slides, swivels or folds. But I simply want this one- it'll be one of the coolest fone ever produced by
[EDIT] Er, Sorry, that should have been "Multimedia Computer" - forgot that the word "phone" is now banned for anything smarter than a brick !!

This phone really reminds me of the fake photoshopped Z200 here
Considering that that was a definite fake, mabe SE has been plagarising our own work

Very favourable review. Camera's not that spectacular but in one of the comparison shots with the 5500, the W710's external screen is almost as big as the 5500's actual screen!
Also looks as though there'll be a Z710, N80 and a W850 review coming up!

I really like the W710 because of clamp shell design (bigger screen/keyboard) but why SE still wants to put a 2.0MP camera in this new phone? It will make more sense if they put a 3.2MP (like the K790/K800) in this new model.
Just a thought.

Since SE has clearely divided their products in music centric devices (better player, worse camera) and image ecntric devices (worse player, better camera), it makes sense to put a 2 MP camera in W710.

k800 is a image centric phone...tht's why it is a cybershot phone....the walkman function is there but not using the latest interface as per W950/ W850.
when you guys look at the picture for w710 and z710
example at following
http://www.sonyericsson.com/d[....]/Z710_metalllic_sand_side1.jpg
http://www.sonyericsson.com/d[....]ide_2_performance_graphite.jpg
did you notice there's a key at the side...the symbol shows it is a phone
lock key....nice thought...no need for user to open the clam shell to have
key lock on. I guess this is mainly for all the external key since both phoen
have more external key compare to previous clam shell offered.
I guess not many company is offering tht at the moment. |

Just like the HOLD switch on an iPod or the keylock switch for SE swivels. I can imagine that it would be easier to accidentely hit the keys on this phone as the keys are in a position (the corners) that could result in easy presses of the keys.

hmmm at least SE can claim they are ahead of Nokia.....since their clam shell...if not mistaken have no music centric...and no external key hehehe.
samsung/ LG have phone with external key but if not mistaken...don't have this hold button. |

The hold switch is a great idea, and I wonder why no-one else ever thought of it.
Just noticed though, there's no mirror for self potraits with the camera. The Z710 has one next to the lens but the W710 doesn't seem to have one. That's a little interting...
