I hope SonyEricsson reach the same quality building as nokia. (Because my T68i its plenty of building flaws)

Totally.

A build quality like and they'd have it made.

So jess_strawberry where is the best place 2 get a phone then?because the phones in china r very cheap and here in ireland i just know the p800 will b 1000+ sim-free

I am also trying to find out. But on a whole I think buying from countries that offer free port will generally be cheaper. Take for example singapore sell cheaper phone then malaysia because malaysia impost import tax.

Come again? The entire 6xxx line of Nokias have serious problems. The batteries quickly becomes loose making the phones unreliable at best. And 62xx phones are even worse with random shutdowns. Also 7110 suffered by much the same problems and quickly becomes worn out in the mechanism that handles the push-out microphone cover thingy so the microphone would fail. So do tell me that Nokias are flawless in hardware.

At least I have had no major problems with the T68i hardware (well the little slide button on the side seems a bit exposed)

What will you do when it's out?

a) Buy it immediately regardless of the possible bugs, malfunctions, hypothetical poor building quality,etc...

b) Wait a few months for an improved version. The hardware differencies btw the first T68's and the latest ones were worth the waiting in my opinion.

I still dunno what to do...

Option a. The hardware isn't likely to be changed much anyway. And being based on a PDA OS the software should be easily upgradable for the user.

Oh dear... looks like I won't be buying one then. I give them until November and then I'm buying something else. I might not even buy another phone, I'm sizing up the new PalmOS v5 Clies.

You'll notice on Expansys that the P800 has dropped off their "most viewed" products. I think this phone is going to be much less sucessfull than it could have been. The people that the phone is aimed at (Geeks like us who love the latest gadgets) have been waiting for 9 months now and still no sign of it. People are getting sick of waiting. Sick of being messed around. Plus still no 'official' word on the delays - just what CPW or Expansys happen to put on their websites.

9 months ago the P800 looked like one hot piece of technology, it looks warm now. If they ever get it working, I'm afraid that at this rate will be releasing the (by then lukewarm) P800 at the same time they are announcing the break up of their company.

So long

Celios, I totally agree. The P800 is a piece of overhyped vaporware. The arrogance of SE is irritating. Why not tell customers what's happening? Remember WAP (where are the phones?), this applies to SE now. I'm going for the first decent smartphone on the market. HTC Canary or the Sendo Z100. It has all the features of the P800 minus the digital camera, but that stinks anyway (only 0,3 mpix, no zoom, no lens cover). Thousands of developers can get their hands on free tools for the Smartphone platform, there will be lots of games and apps up for grabs within weeks after it comes on the market. And it fits in your hand like a regular phone. Totally cool and foremost: in the shops in two weeks. Check it out:

My only concern are 3G phones... I don't mean that they will immediately be interesting... But if I spend as much money as required to buy a P800 I want it to last... You might say that OS can be improved, but 3G will be out soon and applications will start soon enough...
Another concern is the screen... 4096 colors. It is a lot, but the first 65k are sold... I think that a couple of month ago ALL of the phone was worth the money, but now? I am no longer sure it is worth the money... And I think that someone might come out with something better SHORTLY AFTER P800 is released. Why did they wait that long?
No clue... You develop the OS at the same time, not after the phone is complete and, most of all, you keep people interested, don't drop them! We all follow rumors about what MIGHT BE or MIGHT NOT BE in the phone...

No other manufacturer treats customer like that. I still remember VERY CLEARLY what happened with t68m and t68i... And the upgrade being delayed for BLOODY AGES!!!!!
Just to sell t68i...

Now, IF comes out as promised I might buy that phone, and IF they wait the beginning of january then I will wait myself until something interesting that is 3G comes out... In the meantime I will buy some more cool accessories for my t68m (upgraded)...

So, I really HATE 's attitude and I think that many of the people with the small t68m logo on top of their names agree with me...
MAYBE P800 will come out on time, MAYBE NOT, it was shown already at the beginning of the year, then at communicAsia, and then all over the world... BUT nothing happened, no date, no OFFICIAL AND CLEAR communication... Still waiting. And in the last 007 movie they are still showing the t68i...
Sorry, but I felt I had to share my anger with you, Esato is the best therapy... Thanks for reading

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I work at carphone warehouse here in Sweden (GEAB)

Yesterday I checked the phones that we had in on service, there were one SE phone, a blue T65, and.... tatatata, 11 Nokia's, most of them 8210's, 3310's and 8310's

when comparing the amount of SE's vs Nokia's we sell about 65% Nokia and 35% SE atm

So.... keep on dreaming about which phones have the most problems... I'll stick with SE as I know that they seldom have hardwareproblems, mostly software which is easier to fix...
