Cool. i have one of those on the way
one more quick question
I have a USB and a solar charger (with one of those so called universal charger thing) which dont fit the connection for the newer SE phones.
I assume an RCA port like you used would allow me to connect my phone to one of these. and if so wheres the easiest place to pick one up?
sorry for the hassle

If the connections are the same it should work. If you are in the UK try maplin as they sell this kind of stuff.

i don't recommend it... i still prefer using the sony ericsson charger because it has the correct rating and voltage for charging the phone. if it isn't the same, you may burn up your phone literally... |

My plan is to use your mod of using RCA plugs to modify my head phone mic and my charger. (the same as youve done) But also to fit my solar charger with a RCA plug. This should then make it interchangeable.

Although its not actually this (cheap looking) charger it has that kind of adapter. as you can see it fits the old sony erricsons which according to my old charger use the same voltage and amps. So i reason if i had the right adapter to plug into the new phone it should just work fine.. (and the solar charger produces nowhere near a high enough current to be a problem.)
My only problem is
When you soldered in the plugs to the mic wires and the charger did it matter which way round the wires connected?

What about combining a CLA-60 with a CST-60? The car charger has a fastport passthrough and you can dissasembly the CST-60 standard charger and solder the CLA-60 cable instead. Now you can plug the CLA-60 cable to the phone and the earphones to the CLA-60 fastport passthrough.

pretty close to what this is. the fast port is taken from a car charger and the RCA is from standard Red, White, Yellow cable.
however as its a DC current its going to matter which way round the wires are soldered in. which as of yet i havnt figured out. |

just out of curiosity, what phone are you using this with?
i'm not sure if the CST-75 was already announced at the time of the first post, but there it is anyway
side note: youre a biology student and you know how to work electronics stuff? (fyi i went to a technical school, took up IT, but i cant even properly crimp a UTP + RJ-11 )
