O.K. I've ordered mine from CNN.CN. jcr11 - I'm guessing there is no need to remove back cover - was it just a case of undoing the 2 torx screws and prying off front cover? Is the joystick then easily pulled out or do you have to lift the keypad circuit board? I'm only going off photo's I've seen of a K750 being pulled apart so I'd like to be pretty sure of what I'm doing before I attempt it.

take the two screws from under the battery, remove the memory card and put your thumb in the slot. this forces the housing apart some.
now you can use a plastic tool to prize apart the bottom then up the opposite side.
next prize the memory card side and its apart.
the joystick cover will just pull off easy, no need to unclip the keypad/lcd or camera flex'.
to reassemble, start by put the bottom of the front cover on first then work up the sides.
at the top, you will find the main body and front fasia dont meet properly. you can put your thumb on the top of the main part and put pressure downwards while pushing the front in. you'll hear it clip.

Great - Thanks. I'll just have to play the waiting game for the joystick to arrive in the mail.
shaliron - Your referral on page 1 to the fix was my post - It really worked O.K. and I was quite happy with what I had done. It wasn't a bad idea considering I had had a fair bit to drink at the time I did it and submitted the post. But now that I have physically damaged the actual joystick (taken a chunk out of it) I need to replace it.

Oh yeah, I knew that
Hopefully your new joystick fixes the problem entirely.

Replacement joystick arrived today with memory stick cover. Pretty quick delivery. Installation was a snap - unscrew the two screws under the battery and then use something to ply front cover off - I used a guitar pick. When I removed the old joystick I noticed it had a rubber dust seal attached to the underside. The new joystick doesn't come with this. But it is easy enough to peal the rubber seal off the old joystick and stick onto new one - better than dust getting in! Any way it's all in and looks much better than the old broken joystick. I also used the MS cover that came with the joystick as it is a better fit than the original. i.e. it doesn't bulge outwards. For those who are considering the same thing I have attached a picture of the new joystick(installed) so that you can get an impression of what you will get if you buy one.

Hi guys! I think in buying a new Housing for my w800i, because my silver buttons are very scratched! and my joystick is working bad. Also, mi battery cover not fixed at all (how it should be).
So, i was searching on eBay, and i found this item in sale:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-[....]goryZ35212QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
It's secure buy in eBay (specifically to this seller)?
It's easy to get cover off (w800i)? and the change of all buttons? it's easy?
That's all.
PS: Sorry for my bad english, i hope that the text is understood :$ :$
EDIT: I notice that in this article, the buttons are asian version =(
is there an internet store (another than ebay) that sells an american housing cover for w800i with buttons and tools, to Venezuela? (and that has the orange rubber on the joystick...)
THANK YOU :$
