what is so special about the W810? |

Lets face reality here. The W810 is nothing more than a face lift of the W800 with a light sensor added. Whoppy-de-do-dah! I note comments about the silver on the dpad allowing light through. No surprise here - my K500 did this thanks to scratch on the surrounding of the joystick. It's probably nothing more than silver painted clear plastic - a common cost cutting trait amongst many manufacturers. The rest of phone is very much the same. The centre part is probably identical! I'll stick to my W800 with lens cover. |

mp4 playpack is much louder on the w810i - which is a bonus for me as i have loads of vids! |

guys there are no major changes in this phone..
the only reasons you would want this are because
you have money to waste
you can get it cheap
you need 850/edge
you didn't spend money on the k750/w800
you want the better screen, updated UI and like the dpad and keypad better.

The reason for me to sell my w800i was that i always hated the orange/white colour scheme. The black and orange togher look really good. Plus the buttons and 'joystick' look better. Thats the advantage for me. And the new themes which use flash look much better too. |

d-pad nothing to write home about - it squeeks, is not that responsive and im beginning to think the joystick is a better design!! |

One BIG complaint I had about my K750 was that I couldn't assign RINGTONES to different PROFILES.. this was a major set back for me. Does the w810 also have this "bug"
this is my problem - On my T630 I had a profile called 'SLEEP' in which the ringtone was soemthing smooth and low, on the K750 you have to keep the SAME RINGTONE for ALL PROFILES!! this really pissed me off.

i just checked it and no it doesnt have that option on the w810i.. which kinder sucks when i change profile and stlll same ringtone..
i think the w810 is better just because of the Dpad instead of the anoying joystick, on nearly all my se phones had problems with the joystick and just about every costumer comes in had this problem too.
so i guess that
add: is Dpad, nicer looking colour, better and updated UI, keypad and LCD
the bad side would be; battery life is abit poor, maybe needs firware update, and also the walkman logo stuck on the bottom of the keypad will come off when you phone is hot or under the hot weather eg in the car... just like the k700 with its rubber stick pealing off..
personly iv bought a new w800i housing and i still use it.. very good phone overall too.
