Having spoken to Vertu UK, basic software upgrades are free, they charge if you have a hardware change, i.e. addition of bluetooth etc...

Alot of money to do this but I guess it reasonable for them to charge. I mean when other models of phone came out that had bluetooth in them compared to older models people were expected to buy a whole new phone!
