Also less standby and talking time than the w800i. You can justify this perhaps because of technical reasons, but no onscreen clock ???? This is really bad.

historically speaking, the SE shop have never been any the wiser than any other shops like CPW etc. I have cancelled many an order with them when they've given dates which were never met.
as I always say, it'll be available when we get our first reports of it being available from somewhere by an Esato member... then the adrenalin starts as we desperately try to get our hands on the new beauties!
edit: but perhaps we should focus more on the newly released details of the technical aspects of these phones and leave the general discussion of availablity to the other threads
I am reading through some of the other white papers over this lunch time and am somewhat stunned at what SE is giving us

Still no P990i whitepaper is disappointing though.
Having said that however, what the K800i does have is impressing me more than ever. At first i wasnt too impressed by the phone, but this is getting better with more i read.
What i do notice in the whitepaper for the K800i is it immediately states it will be compatible with 2GB M2 sticks, which before we were (or only i was) aware of the existence of 1GB M2 sticks. Thats a good thing to look forward to.
Bluetooth PAN also sounds great, but the weird point for me is that the phone wont take pictures smaller than VGA (640x480), which wont be very good for taking pictures of friends to use as contact pictures.
The whitepaper also suggests the K750i didnt have Megabass, it did !
The main disappointment regarding the K800i however is the paltry QCIF video recording, its now a crime that SE should give us such poor small quality video from such a phone. And still we cannot save SMS to the memory stick, still a stupid limit !
The K800i is a mixed bag of good points and disappointments for me, im still waiting to read the P990i whitepaper, but at this point in time i feel like i want both phones, and i'll probably end up carrying both ! eek !
@ Masseur - regarding the eShop, they told me over the phone once that they dont actually have anything to do with SE other than distributing their products, almost as if they're not even part of SE themselves, which would explain why they have absolutely no information on upcoming products or support.

same with the Nokia shops (like the one in regent street). They are just Carphone Warehouse pretending to be Nokia.
I agree with your comments, including one that I had missed about QCIF size being absent.
It seems what SE giveth on one hand they take awayeth with the other, but fortunately I think they are giving more than they are taking!

Giving, and then slapping johnny consumer around the chops.
I really cannot understand why they dont allow video recording in a higher format, but if i were to guess, i reckon its because they'll be using the exact same CPU in the K800i as they did in the K750i, or at least cut a corner hardware wise somewhere which limits the phones capabilities.
