Its a little worrying mate, how long have you had them and how often would you use them? I wouldn't mind if they lasted a year of heavy use as £20 a year wouldn't be too bad..

Had them since October, I use them every day. If the sound quality wasn't so good i would have binned them ages ago.

I think they're off my list then, I know that they have had heavy use, but I just don't think that Three months is long enough to shell out €40 for, thanks for posting the pics

@ meths & dgi - I really dont think there is a wire problem witht he ex71's. I have used a set over a year and they are still in top condition, and mine are used daily, my gf also has a set whcih are still going strong and a few of my mates. I thin its more how you treat them, but u know them rowing machines you see in gyms have the seat that moves, my wires one went between the rollers and was run over 4-5 times with my weight on it and survived with no damage atall

To be fair, i just chuck 'em in a big bundle on my besdise cabinet when get in from work, and they have been known to rumble around in my pocket from time to time. The actual headphone build quality is really good, as Luke says, they can take some punishment. The wires, well, you've seen my pics

lol to be fair meths I have seen allot of sets like yours (have like 200 sets in my room right now like it) but all of them have been abused, I mean really f**ked with. Also its worth noting those 200 sets are all returns from argos UK, so out of all the sets they sold 200 have definetly ended up liek that, but I found many of these had alllot of damage, like snapped wires, some wires did seem to be like big and their chemical structure changed, duno how. But seriously now if you are considering getting a set of headphones get the ex71's in my experience they last well if you treat them good (try to to run over the wires like I did and dont do whatever the f**k meths did to his lol) and have awsome sound quality.

So the review...
My New Etymotic ER-6is arrived today. I've tested them with quite a few different types of music from classical to gangter rap and the result has consistantly been extremely good! They produce excellent quality sound with decent bass and the clarity is exceptional. They have to be the best in ear headphones I've ever used. They are smaller and lighter than I thought they'd be too. The photos I saw in reviews have photos of massive earbuds that look scary to put into your ears, but this is not the case. They are very comfortable to wear, although you do have to insert them pretty deep to get the best sound quality, but once they're in you don't notice them at all, except when someone is talking to you because the noise reduction is pretty good! There are a few annoying points to them though, the cable is a bit long at 5 feet and tends to hang too much and get in the way. The cables are also quite thin, and although nothings happened to them yet(after one day!) I'm scared I'm going to break them! But so far its all good. They come with a little pouch for storage, an extra set of foam earbuds, two spare filters and a filter changing tool. Cost £59 including delivery. So Overall I'd have to say that although a little expensive they deliver superior quality sound and they are the perfect accompanyment to anyones W8/900i Music phone / Ipod / MP3 player. Here's a few pics.

You're right about the wire looking thin. Also, the buds look like they could go quite far into the ear - maybe too far for some. I might buy those for my next set, whyn my EX71's finally give up the ghost, and find out for myself

Can anyone recomend some good ones that aren't in-ear type. I plan to get the hpm-70 and I dont think I will use the in-ear ones supplied.
