There should be a white patch on the battery as well. This is also an indicator for liquid. Bearing in mind that it is still a battery. But there is also another few indicators for liquid ingress inside the casing usually. |

Just checked my W800 for the white patches. Found them at the back of the sim holder as well as on top of the battery, near the contacts. Almost tempted to put a drop of water on them to test if they really work!!

tell yu what guys..I don;t buy this Water Damage Logic ever...See this is how I had 3 cases for my point..!
1) My first phone was My dad passed down Nokia 3210..I happliy used it from 2002-2003...When I used to Have a Bath in the winters..I used to have the phone with me in the Loo..So with steam running in the air..I had the Phone IC going Kaput...and its non servicebilty by NOKIA led me to shift to SE..! So I agree maybe this was Water Damage Case...!
2) When I bought my Z 600- I carried on the same activity..and lasted me a couple of months..Before other problems cropped in like poor signal...software hang etc..Like I had said in my Z 600 problems thread. So Don't think water damage was the culprit.
3) Then came along my Precioussss...Now this survived me long enough..however I happened to visit an Hill Station and on coming down had got stuck in rain..when I got back home..I noticed water drops inside my LCD screen..SO opened the phone...found it running fine..just all wet..So I used the Hair-Dryer to dry it out and after a day of not using it..She still's run pretty..And Yes I broke the LCD later on so got that changed..So Not Neccsarily Water Damage actually Damages the phone...!

Honestly, I have taken my k750i in the shower, and don't exactly remember how many times I touched it with wet hands. Bottom line, it's still running new, save the joystick problems.
May be, the next generation of SE cell phones certify waterproof |

A little fun fact from last year:
The Swedish mobile phone magazine "Mobil" tested different types of mobiles just to see how much moisture they could handle. SE K700i got better results then the waterproofed Nokia, (can't remember the name of the phone)
I have also had problem with my K750i, it has been in contact with moisture, say the thing on the battery. And it quite often freezes.

Some phones even have stickers or printing in them which dissolves as soon as they're exposed to any "above normal" level of moisture. I've only so far seen it in a Motorola and Sanyo phone |

As do Samsung, and I'd imagine most of the others too. It's the quickest way to tell, although there will often be other visible signs too. The sticker means they can tell even when you've made every attempt to dry/clean the phone.
In other words, if you (meaning anyone) really DID get it wet, then don't bother to try and con an engineer.

a phone can be water damaged and not set off any of these labels. The labels only test for serious water ingress, not minor.

I use my T630 as a clock when I take a shower because I'm usually in a hurry. well, last week, a friend called me while I was washing my head, and I answered with my head all wet! after I hanged, I dried it with the towel, but now when I turn my phone off in the night, the next day it doesn't power on unless I pluck in the charger first. Funny, I had my battery at 100% when it happened for the first time, and when I turned it on in the mornig, it showed 50%, then that night I had it at the same percentage and in the morning it showed itself empty.

My w600i was water damaged also, last night. The phone still works perfect except the backlight wont turn on. It's always super dark. Is there a way i can take take the phone apart to try to dry it out completely in hopes that, that will fix it? I have no clue how to take it apart....Any Suggestions? Thanks! |

Mike The back lights not workin could be due to two reasons , not exactly Water Damage Based...!
1) The Back-Lights are built into the LCD Frame- It could be possible that one of them has a short so thats tripped the others.
2) There is a loose connector of the LCD Display Pin into the Main Board- Here could be water damage that could have corroded a point of the LCD or Moisture could have been settled in the Connector Base causing a Short..!
You will be better off to get it checked at an SE center
