Vodafone Live @ October 14th?
A guy from Vodafone I spoke here in Holland said Vodafone will introduce the P800 as first on the market.

Had a quick play with the sharp x10 and overall was not that impressed. I didnt know but it does feel quite large even though its of clamshell design. I think I shall be keeping my T68 for a while longer - dont really want a larger phone even if it has some kind of a digital camera on it.
It doesnt help that its got a tacky vodafone logo splashed all over it as well... Oh well Ill wait and have a look at GD87 - though that is just as big it seems....
The guy in the store told me it had 32 Megs of memory - I think he was bullsh*tting - no wonder he works in a phone store...

I also had a play with the phone in the Vodafone shop in the Metrocentre Gateshead.
I was very impressed with the quality of the phone and especially of the camera!
The bloke in the store showed me how to use the mirror to take a photo of myself! i thaught this was a bit tacky but useful thing!
The game i tried was like the air shooting one on the T100, but the sound was amazing on this. The polyphonic tones are much better than the T100 ones!
Then he kept asking me if i was interested.
Gave me a pricing structure!
£200 for the phone
£20 Deposit (so i only have to pay £180 when i get it)
But he added some special offer they are doing
put a £20 deposit down now and you get £25 credit on your contract.
Also you can pay for the phone £20 a month with no interest!
This got me really interested.
He didnt mention the price of the Vodafone Live service but he said i could get the phone on any pay monthly tarrif.
He offered me a pretty sweet deal, £14.79 a month for 200 anytime/anynetowrk minuets which carry over for up to 3 months then reset.
Not sure if you can use any network with the phone or if you need the live tarrif.
Overall im impressed with the phone!

I was told today the the GX10 can store 34 images @ 352x288 with nothing else in the memory. I make this out to be around 1 Meg in total. Can anyone confirm this? |

This phone does look impressive. And I do fancy a change. But I'll also keep my T68 for the triband etc.
The only thing I find worrying is there has been so little hype, and everyone knows so little about it!!
I know the link thinks it has MP3 and Blurtooth, when i'm pretty sure it doesnt. But thats not too important.
I'm loking more at the vodafone contracts, and they have all bumped up in price in the last 12 months!!
But I predict it will drop in price by the end of November so i'm going to wait. £200 on a contract is way too much for a phone, especially when my T68 a year ago was only £50 on a contract.
Just another thought, do you get a datacable?? how do you upload/download on the phone?
Can you upload midi files for polyphonic tones?

You don't have to pay full price on an upgrade!! Call them up and tell them you are leaving unless they give you a good deal on the GX10, they will offer you the world! |

Oh, they are bad news..
I heard they are not giving the phone to Singlepoint, because they don't want Singlepoint cheapening the product by giving it away in the back of newspapers..
So their might not be a price drop by the end of Nov, especially as it only comes out next week.. Just my opinion.. |

I looked at the GX10 and the GD87, and I opted for the Panasonic GD87, nicer package all round, ok it dont have java, but the scree is nicer and the functionality is better, nicer menu and user front end.
The camera is excellent and the Voda live service is nice, nothing revolutionary, but its fast and reliable.
The memory on the phone is 1 MB.
I like the way u can change all the colours of the display right down to the external LED display flashing different colours for different people and different functiond such as MMS, txt, profiles etc.
