At such fones the quality of manufacturing and the resistance is what counts, features come only in the second line imo

i would go for 5140i as its has a color screen + gprs + camera. since he's roaming the world, it would be handy to have a mobile phone camera in his pocket so he can always catch great moments in case he left his digicam somewhere else.

I have used my 5210 for 3yrs, the ancestor of 5140i, and i never encountered any problems with it, not to mention the numerous drops.

now i have w800i and im happy with it.

Thanks for all you input and advice. I really appreciate it. I think I will order the 5140i.....only because it has some more features.....like camera and FM radio. Otherwise, I have heard very good things about the "shark" so maybe I'll come back to that one if needed in the future.

You can get the Nokia 5140i for free on contract and then the contract for the whole year works out at £0 so its free

Don't get the 5140, horrible mistake, I've had one myself, easy to use etc with a cam but it doesn't beat the R310s!
I'm using one for wet weather training at the moment, hasnt been affected one bit

u need 2 get optional express on gps enabled covers for the 5140i.
