cheers guys, I like some of those suggestions ("playing" with my girlfriend being the best but that doesnt work, tired it lol) The book idea is alreay down the drain as last night I read about 150 pages of my book and finnished it lol, quite a good one called the conspircy club - medical thriller.

I do kind of agree with masseur as normally going to the gym and doing a hours work out wears me out, but within half a hour and a quick bite to eat im recovered and can still lie awake for ages. I dont know what to do, but I don't want to have to take pills etc just for me to sleep but over the last few months ive found it really hard to jsut switch off, and practically falling asleep in classes.

I used to have trouble sleeping as I'd have a million and one things running through my head while I was laying there.

The only solution that works for me is to have some music or the tv on in the background to distract my mind. I either put some relaxing music on when I get into bed (not very loud obviously) or have the tv on. I use the sleep timer on the tv/stereo so its not running all night too. If you put the tv on dont sit there watching it hoping to fall asleep, just put it on fairly quietly and get into bed and lay down as usual. The sound of the tv will distract your mind but not so much as to keep you awake.

The music option will probably work best for most people but the tv works best for me, give it a go!

before considering pills or other things you put in your body, do you excercise? I always find I sleep soundly after a good work out

And this is the best solution by far....don't even consider pills.

I find a nice hot radox infused bath really helps to relax aswell. [addsig]

A bit of physical exercise at evening time is good. And a reading habit of informative (not fictions) books for half an hour or so at nights brings good sleep.

Also have hot chocolate b4 you go to bed. And last but not least. dont move around, like switch sides while trying to get to sleep, just get comfy and lie there shut eyes. listen 2 boring radio and ta daa. lol well helps me [addsig]

Yet the best way is to go through the edition of short stories from your religious book like bible etc. . on the bed with a night lamp ... Brings a peaceful sleep.
