You're right, perhaps I should have separated it to make it clear. I only meant to say that it has a larger screen (physically) and higher resolution too (320x240 pixels).
resistance is futile. |

I am using the D600 right now. As always with Samsung there are some nice things, and som less nice.
+ Nice screen
+ Nice size
+ Supports bluetooth stereo profile for music listening (when will SE have that?)
+ TV-out feature
- No multitasking. I cant even read sms when listening to music
- Battery. Whats up with Samsung batteries?
- All the pop-ups and sounds. The sounds can be disabled though.
- Maximum of 30 songs in the playlist. You cant play all the songs from the memory card. You always need to play a playlist if you want to shuffle.
- No auto focus.

Samsung's UI isn't really that bad once you get used to it. You also need to get used to a bit of difference in the key layout, e.g. space, punctuations & symbols.
@brorzan, does the D600's music player have an equalizer?

More:
D600
+ stable software (at least in the whole week I had it; D500 was a very stable phone; I'm assuming D600 is too)
- limited customization (the D600 I had only have two color themes available: blue and red; limited message alert tones)
- no ringing profiles (just the normal and silent mode)
W800
+ very good music player plus digital camera plus phone
- will take a few more firmware updates before the major bugs are sorted out. |

It got a few preset equalizer settings - jazz, rock, normal, classic. It also has a 3D sound feature that makes all music sound like a lousy concert recording. Im currently using the jazz setting to get the best sound with my Plantronics Pulsar.
I remembered another three less good features.
- Samsungs T9 still havenīt learned that a new sentence is started with a capital letter. After dot and space you must press * two times to make T9 write one capital letter.
- The memory card slot is not the best iīve seen. Even when itīs closed it is posible to press the card in to eject it. My card is not broken yet, but maybe itīs just a matter of time.
- The stereo headset included has the worst sound iīve heard from an mp3 unit in a long time. No bass at all.
Iīm still using the D600 and have to keep it until march is over. I donīt know if I will keep it after that or not. It is a really nice phone, but it would be even nicer if they sorted out some things in the software.

The way that the D600 cant multitask would put me off the most. I often listen to music on my W800i while browsing the wap or texting. If the D600 cant do that then it would be no good to me.
For people that dont use it for that then it is a good phone. Winning phone of the year must mean someone thinks its good. |

I'd never trust those 'of the year' award things, just look at the winners for european car of the year award for the last few years!

that was the same dillema i was in ...
as the guys said, the D600 has the extra features that they mentioned, but it also has some annoying things, like :
- no radio
- no standard card
- the position of the camera & the photo button
anyway ... i got the w800 and i don't regret it ... hope i never will |
