This is highly annoying, I am waiting for someone to help me with DavinciTeam's flasher, so I can flash the handset and get it vanilla-rised.
Save messing about with all this rubbish!

voda probably set it to look for updates automatically so you will not be able to turn it off then

As suggested earlier, MASTER RESET is the best option.. it should work

Have bought a log, now have no idea what to do, what version of firmware do I need for the UK??

Sorry cant help on that one. I only use official red firmware not third party brown. Keeps waranty valid that way.
