The only thing that bothers me more is that I'll have to re-download the R1A0008.

The store doesn't want to change it because they say that even if SE has diagnose a problem they don't tell them (they haven't write it to the reciept)to change it!:)

well i have the same problem, although I have only had the phone about 4 days, I have only done one complete drain and recharge. Although its nice to have everything working spot on, I might give this a month or so to sort itself out, after all its got 12 months warranty!

just one thing. The place I bought my phone is miles away (visiting relatives for xmas) is it possible to take my phone to a reputable Sony Ericsson dealer where I live to get anything done under warranty, or will I have to go back to the place I bought it?

Hi,

Here's my personal recommendation:

Take your w800i to your phone operator and ask for a replacement. They have to do it.

I live in Dominican Republic and my mobile phone operator it's Orange (France Telecom). I had the same problem too, tried everything, got battery and charger replacement, fw upgrade, and nothing happens.

The only thing that worked was a replacement.

It seems to be a Sony Ericsson problem with some w800i units. I also have a friend with a k700i with the same symptom.

Good luck!!

well after approx 2 weeks, I charge my battery turned off, overnight, and in the morning, it says 'Fully charged'.
In fact it says fully charged after about 2 hours or less from charging from an empty battery. I turn the phone on then and check to see what the charge is (using the volume / zoom buttons on the right of the phone) and its says 100%.
After giving the K750i some 'running in', I am quite happy with the charging process now.
Give the phone a chance guys.

Charge the phone when it's off. If you charge the phon while it's on it never reaches the full 100%.
I also have FW R1N035 and charging with the phone off reaches 100 %. With the phone onnit only reaches 96%.

I always have my w800 switched on when I charge it and always achieve a 100%. This is very strange as I have upgraded my firmware twice and with each version it has always achieved 100%.
