I have Blusoliel dongle and it works fine on windows xp,sp1 and sp2 but not on win 98.
Windows xp sp2 has default drivers for bluetooth devices so there is no need to use the driver cd that come with the device. I connect Nokia 6600 and SE T610 with it. |

I'm currently using an MSI BT Dongle, have had it for 2 years and have had no problems sending and receiving files to Z600's, K700i and my P910i. It even works from my 1st floor bedroom donw to my living room.
One problem I've encountered, (sorry, slightly OT) is that it refuses to let me have a serial connection to the phone (so's I can browse t'net in my living room on the phone via the upstairs Broadband connection).I have trawled the numerous threads here to try and resolve, just wondered if anyone has successfully used the MSI to do this.... |

I have a USB 1.1 dongle from Australian brand 'Dick Smith Electronics'.
It's software clashed with XP sp2 bigtime, so I uninstalled it and and used XP instead. No more problem.
Transfer speed according to is 28kBps but in my case is 20kBps. (K700i, R2AE033) Sending 10 MP3 files - about 29MB - to my phone takes about 17 mins.
Using XP to manage the file transfer is too cumbersome though.
Download MyPhoneExplorer.
Backing up my files one at a time via XP took 3 hours.
Putting them back in after software update via MPE took 15 mins.

How do you guyz use MyPhoneExplorer? When I open it it says telephone could not be identified whereas Bluesoliel connects to my phone instantly. I have connected my dongle at a usb port. In the options it shows Com1 etc. How do i find to which com port my dongle is connected? Plzz help.

Hey there Indianna, I use Bluesoleil over sp1 with myphoneexplorer.
First thing that you need to make sure is that you were able to install the Bluesoleil s/w successfully. It will have the ability to connect to your phone as if there was a serial connection. If you are successful at doing that, just click connect and MPE does everything by itself! hope this helps.

in bluesoleil goto tools -> quick connect and assign all the spp fields. Then exit bluesoleil and restart it and F5 and search for your device. Double click on the phone's icon and right click the 3rd icon, and click connect bluetooth serial port A and check the status.

Tried that. No luck. Still connection failed. Did you mean that i have to assign all the fields in quick connect to my k700 right? If not plzz rectify. |

yes after doing that, go to myphoneexplorer file->options try all the ports. Baudrate should be 115200 and obex packet size 4096. BTW to check if the serial port is connected go to bluesoleil right click the 3rd icon and check if connect is greyed out. If it isn't then something is wrong.
