Hey u guys here is the overview of this whole conversation that i already know.
If u Hold Down the hach button (bottom right corner), and it shows the text SILENT MODE ON.. then everything goes silent....
taking picturs
making a video
recording someones conversation while talking on the phone
audio recordings
reciving calls
transfering files between other devices (computer or other cells) via Bluetooth or infrared etc
...EVERYTHING
If u HAVE the latest Firmware R1BC002 (that can be downloaded from Sony Ericsson website).
but i think u can still do this with other Firmwares too (i hope) |

The reason some phones cant take photos silently (even when the phone is on 'Silent') is it is illegal in most countries to have a photo taking device that doesn't make a noise. On UK Firmware, you can take silent photos but not, for example, on Hong Kong firmware |

As it has been said many times: In some countries it is illegal to record / take photos etc secretly. So in those countries the phone will make somekind of sound even in silent mode. If some pervert wants to take silent photos etc then the only smart way is to flash the phone to another region. I personally can not understand all this fuzz about taking photos or recording a phone call secretly.

Seems that there is another easy way to remove camera shutter sound. Recorder beeps maybe too. Check the thread: FAR plugin for internal file system access using DCU-60. Found there also atleast one good reason to remove the camera sounds, not all are perverts afterall
