You select the new one (unbranded one). The one you pasted into the file. That is the one that gets read by SEUS.

No no no. Read my previous post. You don't enter the CDA, because You don't use the Manual Mode. Automatic Mode has to be used, and if it says "Operator doesn't allow" or similar - Rescue Mode.
The CDA is read from the phone, no matter what You enter on the SE webpage (this is only to check what is the newest firmware version, without connecting the phone). That's why You need the dll which passes different CDA to SEUS during the update process.

Can anyone verify whether this is working just now or not? I keep getting a message that the url entered is wrong, so I'm guessing the server must be down, no? |

I can see the error too, this has happened before. Keep retrying, it'll work eventually. |

I tried this on my Orange-branded P910i and it worked flawlessly first time. My phone is also definately faster since unbranding. Thanks!

1. It costs 15£, my method costs nothing.
2. The download page has been removed (wtf?, looks like a scam to me)
3. If I understand correctly, this is only the flashing utility, you need to have files with the firmware (how to get them?)
Does this even work? I don't think so... |

Ok, I've become a bit stumped. The files you said to close when the error message pops up "audedevicemgr.exe COMM~1.EXE MROUTE~2.EXE" well I can't see these exactly, what I can see are: AUDEVI~1.EXE, CONNMN~1.EXE and MROUTE~2.EXE but even when I try closing all these, the error message continues to pop up.
Anyone any ideas? |

@libertine83 - there should be a file "unbrander.log" in the hfclasses directory, post it's contents here. |

Please note however:
* that software doesn't work with the P910
* that software is available FREE elsewhere on the Web!
* you'll need to buy a T28 service cable, in the region of an additional 8GBP
* that software will NOT, as dr_dv points out, do the firmware upgrading for the P*** series

Here's what to do, when You get the message " sync station used by another program"
1. Check the file "unbrander.log" that is created in the hfclasses dir. If it says "error cannot load SEMCXORG.dll", redo the "renaming" part, because You did something wrong there (the error comes up when the unbrander dll cannot find/load the original one)
2. Try to kill the following processes: audedevicemgr.exe COMM~1.EXE MROUTE~2.EXE (might also try BROADC~1.EXE and SCRFS.EXE).
3. Sometimes You just have to wait. This was my case, I did everything correct and still got the "sync station busy" error. I just left the phone in the cradle, tried again in half an hour and it worked.
It's good to reboot the computer before trying the procedure and not to use any programs before and during it. |
