maybe @jagger is just afraid of snakes, no big deal... (well killing a snake would be a big deal to a snake fan, but you know what i mean) everyone doesnt liek every animal
me personally, im not afraid of snakes, but i wouldnt want one as a pet... (i only like a few animals as pets ) |

@ecs - Yup ! Everyone has his/her OWN pet to like and keep . . . Let's just LEAVE Meths with his RED-colored snake here - OK? But given a choice, I would rather OWN/keep an Iguana rather than a snake . . .

I wasnt getting at the guy, it just peeves me that snakes have a bad reputation, thats completely undeserved. I like dogs, always had a dog, ever since i was tiny. Well, apart from my neighbours yappy little poodle. Pain in the arse that it is. When Frankies fully grown, i'm going to feed that poodle to him, i swear

Why? becase of what you've heard in the media and films? Or because you've handled snakes, studied them, and know them to be violent, evil, nasty creatures?
Snakes are so misunderstood.

Already bit me - i was prodding it for a while trying to get it to do something, though! Corn snakes dont have fangs, just little teeth to help grip the food as they swallow, even when fully grown a bite will barely break the skin. They are generally one of the most docile snakes you will find, they are very easy to look after, and are a little bit different. I like 'em!
A lot of people are. Actually, i bet if you handled one, your opinion would change. Having said that, my aunt has a real phobia of snakes, even if she sees a pic in a magazine, the magazine goes flying across the room! I suggested she hold my snake, to show that theres nothing to be scared of, and she started having hysterics. Seems daft to me, but then i don't like spiders...

but being colorblind, i cant always tell what color is what, and i get the kinds of snakes confused, so i gave up! haha
(ill talk about the colorblind thing in another thread if anyone wants to know about it lol, im sure there are a few more colorblind people on this forum)

Yeah, Britain isn't really a snake country like the U.S. (apart from the Isle of Arran, which is riddled with Adders) so here a corn snake is classed as "exotic" even thought they are very common in other areas

Paid £45, but you can get them as cheap as £15 if you go for a Common. Mines an Amelistic, something to do with the colouring. I still paid over the odds for it, but i just loved the colouring, plus it was the most alert, inquisitive, and friendly one there

I feed it baby mice, or "pinkies" at thisage. As it gets larger it will eat adolescents, then adult mice, then if it gets really big, small rats. In the UK its illegal to feed live mice, so they are gassed with carbon dioxide and frozen, i buy them from my local pet shop and defrost them. I'm going to give it the occasional live one though, even though i can be prosecuted(!) the law here is just bizarre.
