The difference between 1.3mpixels and 2mpixels isnt that big, and really isnt that important either. The quality of the lenses and the imagingsoftware used are much more important than a slight difference in number of pixels. I agree the pics you have posted doesnt show a hughe difference, but beleive me the K750 cam is way better overall. It has much better and more precise colordefinition and better sharpness.
But it wont show as hughe difference in every picture you take, because its still only mobilecams, with limitations like short focalrange etc. To really see the difference you need to take more pictures in conditions more suited for the limitations of mobile cams. And more suited for each cams optimum conditions.
Try taking some portrait pictures of people under good outdoors conditions with both cams, focusing on peoples heads within a few meters range, and you will see a big difference in skin tone and detail. Also remember good photos is not just about the cam, but just as much, or more, about the photographer. Getting the best out of a cam is about knowing the cams abilitys and as photographer knowing and seeing when angles, lighting etc. are correct. A good cam doesnt automatically mean you allways get good pictures, you can take poor pictures with any cam, no matter how good it is. And the K750 wont allways and every time show a big difference, it depends on the conditions.
A simple random point and click comparison, usually wont show the big differences. Because conditions then are most likely randomly good or bad for either of the cams.
To really show the difference you need to find the edge of their capabilities, getting the best from each camera, and you need to take plenty pictures. Its at those times when the really good pictures come out that you see the difference.

I can see a big difference... k750 is sharper, has more colors in it. and i don't think you can say that that's the only difference, coz as far as i'm concern i can say that the nokia was taken with a phone. but with the 750, it is more like taken with a CCD digicam
cheers!

yes, but still the small resized pictures here dont really bring out the differences.
I could post pictures from K750 that would simply have been impossible for the 6680 to produce, thats where you see the real difference.
a few examples:

thx
Notice the stuffed fox, it was sitting inside a glass montre, the picture is taken from outside the montre through the glass. I was amazed how well it turned out
And youre aboslutely right, the difference is that the 6680 still looks like a mobilecam at its best, while the K750 at its best doesnt and can pass for a real digicam.

but why are those nokia piy so "blue"? guess if i would experiment with the settings, the result would be way better. but i am too lazy, i got used to be served by my fones without extra settings ( ericsson illness ;- )

hehe - yeah I know what you mean
The blue tint is caused by the nokia not being able to determine proper whitebalance as good as the S//E. It could propably be improved by experimenting with the cam settings in the nokia. And it could be "fixed" in an imageeditor like photoshop.
Another "typical" nokia cam thing, is that there imagingsoftware incorporates a softenfilter in order to remove noice in the picture, that can be a good thing, especially in low light conditions where noice typically appear, but it comes at the expense of detail. Detail that you wont be able to bring back, even in the best imageeditor.
You can see this difference in the 2 pictures posted by sasha-se, where theres a difference of detail in the bricks on the walls of the building.
Overall though, the 6680 cam is pretty descent for a mobile 1.3mpix cam, and you can certainly get descent pictures with it. Just gotter work a litle bit more with settings and sometimes possibly touch it up a litle in photoshop.
Also worth mentioning for those reading that are not familiare with the K750. Just because we can post very good pictures here, doesnt mean we allways get this kind of quality from the K750. I take just as many average shots with my K750 as I take good shots. But some times you get everything right, angle, lighting, settings etc. and they just turn out great. |

dont tell me about it ;-) sometiems i had to make several shots for a good one. next to the cam the big display is very helpful ( not just at the pix ) , actually i wouldnt release any 2mp fone with such a "small" display, as in k750i.

True, if there should be anything Id like to change on my otherwise beloved K750, it would be a bigger screen. Allthough the "small" screen wasnt enough for me not to get it, I would surely not have minded if it were bigger.
To be honest the perfect phone doesnt exist for me - propably never will.
But at the time I got my K750, it was the best bet at a small, compact, well featured, reasonably priced phone. And so far it has served my needs well
Next time Im buying a phone, my needs and wishes may have changed, therefore I cant say what my next phone will be, or even if it will be an S//E. It all depends. |

another question: 6680 has got 262k display, but the resolution is pretty bad, so mostly it looks like 65k. why is that? how comes that in k750 is more clear?

Hmm . . . I never relized the 6680's cam is so good.It will be interesting to see some pictures taken in poor lighting conditions like pubs and night clubs on the spur of the moment (for more serious stuff I anyway use my 'proper' cam) also how about the video quality ? And lastly - keep in mind one buys a 750 for its camera whereas my 2 work buddies use their 6680's as high speed EDGE modems for their laptops.
