i must confess i agree with you and id extend it across most companys i think they just pull numbers and letters form thin air and just name them and numer them however they feel.
they may have some significane to the team that designs and builds them but to joe public they mean bugger all |

@mustafabay: Check out Nokia website for details:
E60: 352 x 416 pixels. 16M colors
E61: 320 x 240 pixels. 16M colors
E70: 352 x 416 pixels. 256K colors
I have a N90 which has screen with a resolution of 352x416 pixels, and it is very very nice. The font is bluffing. |

Is it me or does Nokia's E60 look exactly like SE's T630?

It looks very similar indeed. However, for I have seen both (in real life), T630 looks better |

Did you notice how slim those phones are? Even the fattest one was merely 22mm, which is 1,5mm fatter than k750i. Slimmest one (E61) was only 14mm, which is 0,1mm fatter than RazrV3. That is almost half the P990 size.
E60 was 16,9mm which is 3,6mm less than k750i, other dimensions were following: E60 was 3mm wider (49mm) and 15mm taller (115mm) than k750i. All in all I think Nokia has winner group coming out, no other Symbian smart phone has been as small yet. Screens are also amazing, 4 times bigger than old Series 60 phones.
My sources were www.nokia.com, www.motorola.com and www.sonyericsson.com. |

Making E61 slim is not too much of a hassle given its size.
The other ones are slim and its good! |

well, not having cameras is a good way to make thinner phones
anyone here in this forum is gonna buy a phone without a camera righ now???
so, you should only compare the one that has camera with p990...
weirdly, being 3g phones, even the one with the camera doesn´t have front camera for videocalls??? must need brick acessory like 6630???
lol
so anyone comparing anyone of this phones with p990 should be very carefull with what they say

3G does NOT mean video calls.
I'm sick of this dumb association!
It is about faster data rates (somehow), and that's what these phones have been made for. These are E series, targetted at enterprises. 9300 is a big success and it does not have a camera (not 3G either, but it has EDGE)
If you want facny cameras etc, turn towards N Series for instance....
It's as simple as that.

strange you should mention that as there was a thread not long ago about that very subject and quite a few people were asking for phones without cams because of were they worked and not been allowed to take there current phone in.
so i guess there would be somewhat of a demand and i could see business adopting these phones to stop workers wasting time taking photos.

on the subject of video calls when 3g was first muted it was sold to the average joe public as video calls been the main advantage but as times moved on i think theyve realised that this is just not working. i ve seen no one having a video call in the 3 years the service has been available and in the business i work in you would think they would.
the advert s to joe public in the uk have totally changed video calls are barely mentioned now the main crux of the adverts is watching live sports/ tv downloading music at broadband style speeds.
so i do think that video calls are just not that important to people (well uk people anyway)

This is a serious contender for the P9...the fact that it can support all levels of wireless especially the G bandwith..which to me is the way forward...well done Nokia.
