Any chance of taking photos of it compared to the phone itself or somethign liek an HPM 20 to give an idea of size?
I really want a remote, btu at the same time something slim liek the old cd player remotes would have been perfect.
Though TBH I just leave keylock off now and justuse the keypad to switch to something else so something lie this would definately be in the gimmick catagory.
New the price for this is about 99 US I believe. So get off ebay if possible.

I got mine off ebay - a Japanese seller seems to have a good stock of them.
There is actually a special edition Touch W800 package that contains the phone and all usual stuff except includes the SRC-100 remote and a 1GB pro duo. Interestingly, it doesn't contain the Touch earphones but the better phones that are supplied with the HPM-70. This package is only available in Hong Kong as far as I'm aware.
Regarding the bulkiness. It's not too bad on your t-shirt neck 1) because it's light 2) because the clip goes up to the top of the remote, which means the remote will hardly sit above the line of your t-shirt collar. It is also excellent if you have a breast pocket.
The lightness means that you don't actually need to clip it anyway, but that's not ideal.
With regard to it's size, you've got to be realistic - a remote will never be as small as the HPM-70 mic (unless it is voice activated). I agree with Gigs that the old Sony CD/Minidisc slimline remotes were top of the tree. Although the joystick control on the SRC-100 is actually better suited to a remote (I just have to brush my finger over the remote to change track/volume) - really a new & fantastic method of control.
In terms of a remote's worth... that's all in the eye of the beholder.
Some people, like me, grew up in the walkman/minidisc days where we came to love our remotes and really value their use.
Others who are used to ipods etc will probably be more accustomed to using the main unit for control. Hence the worth of a remote is a call for you to make, not for me to review.

No, the remote only works on se phones that has the newer "fastport" connection (which started with the K750). |

Has anyone else actually bought this thing yet? Ive noticed at Mobile Fun they're selling it for Ģ42.95. What a rip off! Thought the price could be a bit more reasonable seeing as the w800 should have shipped with a remote in every box imo. I havent checked eBay yet, but i wouldnt mind getting hold of one of these if the price is right |

Muggins here bought one. Its okay, it works fine as a remote control. It is bigger then the HPM-70, but not unduely so. The colour scheme seems to match the W800i perfectly, and it does the track skip/volume with hold buttons. Nothing else really. H/F bit is okay, like the others. |

@iambasil, thanks for that review. bit of a bitch about the capitals - I've had similar things happen when posting
@defensive, I agree mate. I couldn't go anything bigger than the hpm70 mike, which still needs to be clipped to my collar since it falls lower than the standard stereo HF that comes with the K750 and peeps can hardly hear me. Infact as far as call use goes, the standard HF is much more useable since the mike falls to a better height - it hangs the perfect distance from my mouth and I can even use it while reading (pushie) and the caller can hear me perfectly.
With the HPM-70 if it's not clipped to my collar I have to hold it up to my mouth - not exactly ideal while going down a hill on pushbike at 65km/h

dunno... i read in another thread here that someone tried to use the HPM-80 with their W800 and it didnt work. I guess it might have something to do with the radio incompatibility
EDIT: here's the thread http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=109965
