To the person who asked about i-Melody. IIRC it is not quite a *.midi file but there is at least one free tool which converts from *.midi to an i-Melody file. I got mine from an i-Mode development kit from the NTT DoCoMo people.

well, polyphonic ringtones are a mater of hardware, it is impossible to achieve polyphony through a simple software update. U can check poluphonic ringtones at Nokia's website( Because the new phones will have this function, there is a demo of polyphonic and standard ringtones)
--------

Would you by chance have a link to the page at nokia.com for the demo of polyphonic and standard ringtones?

well..unless they have the options for us to change the tempo of the melody or even to a quarter note.......something similiar to NOKIA. that should keep us happy for quite sometime until the neext better phone comes out!!

Demo of the polyphonic ringtones may be find here:
http://www.nokia.com/phones/7210/digiserv_ringing.html

The example tunes are not that appealing, yet, the difference is clear

I agree with howque, forget polyphonic rings. More control for the tempo and duration of notes would improve our ringtones a lot.

The IMelody does have a setting for tempo, it also has different lengths of notes; fulls, halfs, quarters and eighths. To that you also have different styles; normal, staccato and legato. Also there're different durations for each note; normal, dotted, double dotted and 2/3 length.
