question
what do u do if you dont have any in your current line up?
answere
remake a phone with some music bits and try to push it as a music phone! petatic attempt at tying to grabe sales from w800 which kicks its butt on memory, style and on cam
walkman rules
my next phone is goin to be the w550i

Actually if you realise Nokia came out with that colour some time back with there 3210 series, it was Rustic Red..so I dont think they copied SE on that part of the colour. More like the other way round if you think about it.. But then again you strong SE followers and so you will believe everything SE does is original.
Come on guys everybody copies everybody, we wait and see what SE produce to counter attack the N Series with the 4Gb hard drive

I don't think its THAT Bad! Given a choice i would pick this one over the W8 purely because the 6630 is a smartphone and has EDGE.

I like this post.
It shows what an insignificant step there is for doing what did to K750i to "transform" it in a tacky W800i.
Take an old phone, repaint it in a tasteless color (though 6630 music edition is also available in silver), give a jack adapter with it, put a slightly better MP3 player, and here you go. You get a Nokia Walkman phone the same way as you get a walkman phone.
I'm happy to see fans shooting 6630 music phone down, for has done exactly the same thing with W800 vs K750... |

Super G, I disagree for the K750i is a good MP3 player although it has a slightly different set of features. K750 and W800 are aimed at different targets, and have therefore slightly different features. But didn't just take an existing phone and modify it just a little bit...
realized the potential of music in the phone... Nokia is just following trends (as they did with cameraphones).
In my opinion Nokia, in the last couple of years, has been innovating just in the design department (with poor results) and very very little in tech dept.
That is why Nokia lost the technological edge which, in a mobile phone market, is still very important.
So now they are trailing.... And I am not talking about the old Nokia vs dispute, but rather about Nokia compared to all other manufacturers.
Color screens, Nokia has been trailing
Camera phones, Nokia has been trailing
Music phones, Nokia has been trailing.
People are now switching. Partly because of tech and partly because people love to go with the "underdogs" (much more fancy to own a phone slightly different from all others (Nokia didn't get this point producing too many similar phones)).
In conclusion...
I think is on the right track to gain market share and an affectionate public. Their strategy is at times questionable but over all I feel much less cheated by than by Nokia. At least I see where the R&D money goes (i.e. not only in marketing and copying from competitors but in actually creating new and innovative products).
Ciao ciao

Thats a good package with the phone, se could learn something from that, but why are nokia trying to do a walkman!

How is that a good package when W800 includes a 512mb MSDP, and this includes a 256mb RSMMC? The memory card reader is pointless when it would have been just as easy to supply a fast usb like the W800. And who the hell really wants to plug their phone into a stereo anyway?!!
Anyway i thought nokia had 'upgraded' the 6630 to the better design of the 6680, which has got the 2nd camera which 6630 didnt have. Talk about going backwards! This phone has nothing to offer the market now the W800 has been released
my views are totally unbiased obviously!... |

I for one think its an excellent idea being able to plug your phone into your stereo, i do it with my iPod Shuffle, its an excellent feature to have.

you can, but you have to buy the adaptor separately.
I just think that in this day and age with mp3 players getting smaller and smaller, why anyone would want this brick is beyond me. |

You can plug ANY phone with jack output to your stereo.
Just get yourself the right cable!
And of course it's good if you can do so. Like with the iPod, I fully agree. |

It's not about the color. It's about using that color in a _music phone_. That color is associated with walkman's |
