i find that they are very tinny, unless you wear them as they are supposed to, and yes then it almost feels like too much.

i think i must have unusually small ears. the smallest size still feels uncomfortable in my left ear.

but i will try that trick with wrapping the wire.

they're great headphones, i just find it strange not being able to hear anything around me when travelling etc

HPM-70 have excellent sound quality, high and very low in particular. I've repleaced my shure E2C+shuffle with w800i

Please note that you have to use proper earplug which suits your ears. I've checked with all 3 and smallest made such a huge difference in bass (you have to use custom equalizer)

I just bought a pair. Definitely better than the standard headset, but yeah, you do have to use the right size earbud (I found small the best also).

Thanks Philasan for you input - I may have just assumed they were crap otherwise.

I'm still gonna try some aftermarket headphones, as the volume level of the HPM-70 units is still a little underpowered (only just).

I bought a cheap aftermarket that I was gonna mod into an HPM-70, but now I have real one I'll mod the original handsfree into an mmc-60 instead. I doubt it will improve the audio quality much, but I'm gonna use gold plated rca's, just for the bling factor.
Bling!

I'll keep the aftermarket as a backup handsfree:

@Max

Nah I dont think the volume is underpowered with the hpm-70. If anything its that exact opposite (for me anyway) as I cant play my music at full volume anymore. Out of curiosity what kind of muisc do you listen to.

And yes I also think the smallest buds are the best not only becasue they fit my ears properly but becasue they sound the best to! The bass is INCREDIBLE with the hpm's so much that I cant use 'mega bass' anymore.

Definetly recommended

it's not that underpowered, it's just that sometimes I find myself wanting a little bit more punch, even after customising the equaliser. It's not really a complaint, I'm very happy with the headset and the phone. It's not SE's fault I like to make my ears bleed occasionally!

I listen to a wide variety, at the moment I'm listening to Black Eyed Peas, Spiderbait, Eminem, Amiel, foo fighters, fat boy slim and other stuff.

They are out of stock until 2nd week of October.
(that's what I was told by their customer service rep)

Yeah, I agree. Using MegaBass is overkill.

max_wedge: By looking at the picture, it looks like your HPM-70's are knockoffs. Is that what you mean by "aftermarket"?
