possibly because of nokias early models gave it alot of strength, look at the 3310, most people will have atleast one in their hous even no, I currently have 5/6 nokias in front of me, but they are all the older models which were achually worth buying in their time

I think you may just pissed yourself off when you realised that now Nokia is gaining market share while SE is losing market share.

I got a guess that a few years ago, Nokia got off to a flying start, simple to operate, quite robust, perfect for all, teenyagers, to grannies.
And as we know the menu system/layout has remained pretty much the same for all Nokias ever since. People dont like too much change....it scares them, so my 5 year old 8110 packs up, i pop to the shops and pick up a shiney new 6610, 10 minutes later ive set it up, time, date, wallpaper the works... cos i know how, no shocks,,get it!
You couple that with constant new models, and a much more switched on marketing dept, and hey presto, we have the best selling brand of phones! Phew!
So all SE need to do, to turn this around, is........................
Sorry thats for them to work out, i can help, but i dont come cheap! |

@number 2.
So the only reason those people don't switch brands is that they don't want to leave behind the hard-to-use, outdated Nokia interface for a more recent, more intuitative one.
How pathetic!

I sometimes wonder what phones people would be buying if sony had not teamed up with ericsson, makes you wonder :-)

The 7700 was never sold thankfully due to major techy problems, wasn't as nicely designed as 7710 either..
The 6060 is a business orientated youth phone. The clam version of the 6030. Looks fine if you're not bothered with phone features but want a bit of style.
Could sell well to Knight Rider lovers

This fight reminds me of 2 internet browsers, FireFox(as Nokia) and Opera(as SE). we all know Opera is better but Firefox is just popular!

Yes, you are about right, just because we see ourselves as a happy band of enlightend ones, treading throught the land with an SE in our hand, what the rest of humanity wants a F**king simple life.
I dont happen to like BMWs, ive had more than a few, but my tastes and requirements are now more sophisticated, but they do a job, they are OK, they are very desirable for the masses.
Nokia sell the sizzle.... not the sausage...
Now think about that until your head hurts!
All the best. |

Nokia and Sony Ericsson. It's NOT comparing Apples with Apples.
Both different in many ways, yet they are the same.
Some people prefer square screens, others prefer elongated screens, no matter, it's what's pleasant to your eyes, not what's pleasant in your mind.
It's a matter of God-damned opinion.. so what if John Doe prefers Nokia? Why should that affect them, does it degrade them socially in life? Does it stop them from having a higher earning job? Better car? A wife that doesn't nag? NO.. Does a Sony Ericsson mean high social status? Poor Wages? BMW or Lexus? NO..
It's personal preferance. I wish adults would grow up just because something is not going their way or people don't accept other people's views.
It's prejudice, an actual form of racism. You bully and verbally assault/flame someone for owning a different manufacturer of cellular telephone and think you're the better off!
If you are/were a smoker or a golfer, people don't come up to you in the alley or on the green, having a go because you're smoking Silk Cut and not Mayfair, or playing with a Ping putter instead of a Taylor Made!
Grow Up. Live with people having a different view in life and you may appreciate other things too. I've just got hold of my first Sony Ericsson and I actually like it alot after owning Nokia 5 years straight.
I did take the mick and scrutinize owners of a Sony Ericsson and now I think how stupid that is. It's a phone not a symbol of status or importance.
