i would have thought about Siemens being an option for them. german company with a lot of electronics experience.
then Ericsson maybe? as theyve worked on mobiles together in the past...

it is for male! The targeting is very straight – no pictures with the phone in female hands etc.

Really classy looking egg timer / travel alarm clock..
Oh well.. anyway, what are B&O thinking?? They could have teamed up with SE or Motorola and got something classy going, but no..
Korean Fischer-Price phone company, churning out clones of previous model, still with rudimentary functions so wrong (SMS/messaging system and calendar springs to mind) together with rocket science issues like being able to ring and vibrate simultaneously

ok, well maybe so. Im sure the ergonomics of the phone and the overall feel of the phone are pretty nice, but as batesie stated you either love it or hate it, and i hate it. It reminds me of how some of those Xelibri's look

Hmmm, the screen is a the bottom, with the keypad at the top? They state that it's actually better to use that way, but, to my mind, when keying in a text message or a phone number, your hands will be blocking the screen, meaning you can't see what you're typing...I'll need to see one in the flesh, that doesn't sound right to me.

Looks like a touch of IKEA as well in there..
(Hex-head bolt/nut at joint)

This has got to be a joke IMO.

Very true batesie, the 8800 is a good phone, but poor, poor battery life! Good comparson atually, the 8800 is nokia's "luxury" phone (outside of Vertu, obv). A stats comparison would be good.

we should understand two things:
1 - it is made in B&O philosophy - no customizable ringtonez, no mp3, no wallpapers, no java, no nothing. To prevent you from breaking a pure balance of technology and style.
2 - you can use it in a normal "screen on top" position when you write sms or use bossiness functions.

Still -I expected a candybar... but only 1100 euro for Serene and BeoCom 6000 sounds very cool. and the screen is made in Beo Vision 5 style
