if they did pack the phone ala the v3 then the packaging would be included somewhere in the cost of the handset thus making it more expensive.
having said that i can agree that packaging of most mobile phone could be better thought out. esp when your paying the sort of cash you mentioned.
sounds as thought you got a decent deal in the end with a mp3 player camera and a k700 sometimes its better to buy masters of the trade than a jack of all trades

its overpriced anyways!

I can't believe this thread...for months the K750 has been the only phone discussed on Esato...this is the first time I'm hearing about a creaky battery cover. What are all the people who are happy with the phone saying about this problem? I still love my precious so there's no way I'm changing phones.

You have no idea my friend. The reason it has been discussed for ages is because we are all blind folded patriotic idiots. So what if it takes large pictures, the cam is still bad quality. So what if it plays mp3s, you have to fork out enough cash which could be used to buy an ipod to get the damned card to hold them all. So what if it has a sliding shutter, it still sounds like a constipated rabbit that is overpriced.
@batesie

rotflmao @ Vanquish!! Is it really truly that bad, mate? I'm considering buying my first ever SE very soon, and this kind of talk is scary... Btw, which phone would be best for acquiring that lush girlfriend? (i hope to heavens my wife doesn't browse this thread...)

lol @ Sanjeev bhai! I do hope you're taking it back and giving them hell over it, mate. Shoddy assembly/construction is inexcusable, regardless of whether it's SE, Nokia, Mercedes or Durex... Especially when it's Durex :-)

@vanquish: Did you just say cam is still bad quality?? I've seen pics and i have to say is one of the best cameras in a phone ever. And remeber it's just a phone with cam and mp3 player capabilities and not the other way around, and btw K750 is one of the best in that . I can agree with you in the quality and the shouter but not in its capabilities.
@kryptik: I think Z520 is the phone you are looking for

NO such thing here in Malaysia. Most consumers here don't know their rights, so here, when you complain about something "simple" like a creaking phone, you're gonna get a weird stare from the workers in the service centre. The look they'll give me if I complain is kinda like "Come on, you want to complain because of a simple thing like this? I have better things to do with my time then to attend to your lame creaking problem :rolleyes: " ....
Sad but true... So I guess I'll have to live with the creaking ...

Until recently that's been much the same in S.Africa... We're slowly learning to insist upon good service and more importantly, we're learning to resort to legal remedy to compel sellers to live up to their end of the bargain. It's the 1 thing the Americans are good at, and we'd do well to learn it from them.

Yeah, I wish the people in my country were that way, but unfortunately that isn't the case. Oh well, I might pop into the service centre somewhere next week and see if they can fix it. I don't mind if they put some oil at the creaking parts or whatever, as long as the darn creaking sound is gone. Its really irritating. Thank God my battery cover is not creaky too... Otherwise I'd go insane by now...

@Alex, having been a Symbian user for some time, it'd be a bit of an adjustment moving to a Z520. I do have my eye on the P910i though... @Sanjeev, in time i'm sure the way our people think will change. It's not going to be anytime soon though, although we can but hope.

I must admit I've had very limited experience with the K750i but one thing I hate about the looks are that screen.
Its so high up, there is only a very small distance between the top of the screen and the top of the phone, and I really don't like that.
And with all the comments that have been made about the build quality, I don't think I'll be returning to sony ericsson again. Its quite sad. But I'm very interested in the Moto 'Q'.
