Ask for a brand new one and not one they repaired.
Sony makes excellent products but the repair service is worthless, I had the NW-E3 (mp3 walkman) which was send 3 times for a sound and playback problem (which occured sometimes but annoying) and on the last time I decided to pick it myself and have a chat with them to only discover that they never sent it to the factory as they tested it themself before and there was nothing wrong with it ... . Great, so some punk "tested" it and decided it was not worth a sound and firmware check as the 10 seconds he used (and scratched) it was ok.
Man, I would have killed that bastard but at the end I got a new one as I wouldn't leave the shop until they fixed it so they gave me a new one.
