well u can hardly tell what is the real problem, if u bring to SE they will say it is mainly firmware problem, but i dun think it is true coz my R2B025 has no problem at all. battery loose? abit unacceptable unless your battery clip is ruined, otherwise it is hardware problem.
I had a Nokia 6510, had the same problem, i often update it to the latest software but still the problem exist.....i sold the phone and got my baby t68i. I am damn sure that it is a hardware problem for my 6510 for there was no fix eventhough i upgraded to the latest firmware, but for SE im not sure as i havent encountered such problem........touchwood.....i dun want it!
bring it to ericsserve in amcorp and have them tune your phone. request for a one to one exchange if the problem still exist after they tuned it

If the battery is not Original then the phone will only show full/half/empty.
To find out swap the battery from your freind's phone and see who is getting the correct indications.
I know this because i tried it on my phone.

with reguards to the batery life i heard, but i dont know how true it is.....
if the cell signal strength in the area is weak the phone 'boosts' its output to full to try and compensate
if its got a full signal it runs on a lower out put
this means if you like in the big city next to a transmitter you will have a longer battery life, in the country or poor area it will be noticably less
i also recall someone saying the earlier 68 software had a better batery life over the 68i but i cant substatiate that one although my wifes 68i is charged more regular than my 68 but she leaves it in work and gets a 'sos only' signal there
any confirmation ? |

i've got a t68i aand when i use the sony ericson t68i battery it shows the full 10 steps of battery life. i also boguht a rubber t68 battery (original) but with this it only shows the 3 steps. is it the phone's fault or is the t68 an alien battery?? that's what it says when it charges it. |

maybe a t68 battery is not compatible with the t68i.. but does it really fit?

some said that SE built in something in the white BST-14 battery where the previous one doesnt have and which enables the phone to detect the battery's usage. You can try to put your battery in another T68i to check that if the problem still persist, if it does then try to put a white battery n test. the reasons that it cannot detect is basically:
1) the battery does not support detection by T68i
2) like some said, the circuit in the battery somewhat have problem
3) if same problem persist after testing with a white battery, then most probably that there is some short circuit with your T68i, try to bring it to any service centre and ask them to fix it
hope this helped

k well i tried in my sister's t68i and it still only has three steps of life, so it's the t68 battery that's at fault. but it still works. |
