i totally beg to differ. any shuffle of a playlist of songs A, B , C, D, E that results in me hearing, for example:
D, A, B, D, E, A, C
is _not_ doing the job (and was written either by high school students or a cd player engineer transported from the late 80s)

I understand why you're pissed and I would be the same if I had that problem but I don't, did you upgrade to the latest firmware (although you shouldn't have to for these basic features, but S.E. software programmers are lame)
I have R1L and the only time it would repeat a song is if I stop the mediaplayer (not pause) and start playing another song,
the fact that I have a 1 gb card and over 250 songs kinda kills the odds though so i can't be sure

evinco: ya - it's possible to write a player in java, if SE fixes their current implementation
darky: it's true that the shuffle may be fixed in the current firmware -- i've been avoiding upgrading due to the video degredation that's been reported.. i guess i'm just being whiny at this point - and should ask which i value more: good video or correct shuffle play.. :- /

Yeah, it's a bitch. I started on R1J (and updated to R1L after a day)so I've never had the good video. Now I'm watching the w800 versus K750 images thread findings to decide if I'm going to put up with slightly worse pics, or upgrade to W800 firmware for better pics, but lose the activity button.
I don't think I'll do it though, the activity button is way to useful to me.
As far as mp3 players go, the K750 ergonomics (when using the player in phone lock mode) is better than many mp3 players I've owned. I find I can reach down to my belt and change volume or track/station with ease, and it becomes very intuitive. Many mp3 players can't even manage that. It's certainly doesn't have the features of a hard drive based player like iPod, iRiver etc, but I don't know if it has been marketed as a replacement for that end of the market. |

Im getting the hang of it guys, weird problem, though, when i select media player for the muisc button, it just plays the last song?, is it suppossed to do that, or actually open the media player, not that it matters, as its easier like you say to just browse to the folder and hit play, rather pointless media player really.

If you just browse to the folder, not using the mediaplayer, the track advance feature (and other things I can't remember off hand) doesn't work. You are probably better of creating playlists by adding whole folders to a playlist, then playing that folder thru the mediaplayer by using the playlist.
As for the music button, it plays the last thing that was used, so for example the last song you listened to, or if you were listening to the radio the last time you used mediaplayer, it will start the radio.
Well, that's on K750 anyway...I've not had a chance to check out the W800 mediaplayer yet. |

It's not actually that hard if you already have them in folders....
Instead of going into browse files, select your folder and hit play, you can create a temporary playlist for a folder...just accept the default name, mark the relevant folder, add, then play the playlist.
It's not quite as quick I agree, but it's not that much longer. It's 9 keystrokes compared to 13 (if the folder you want to play is first in the list after VideoDJ)....

Is there any software for the k750i that allows syncing playlists with a PC (i.e., similar to itunes). Now I'm manually dragging folders in the Windows File Manager to the mp3 K750i folder, followed by manually adding playlists. This seems like a really stupid way to manage the music.
Thanks.

I'm also disappointed by the media player on the K750i. I was wondering what the differences are with the W800i media player.
As the W800i is sold as if it was a replacement MP3 player I guess there is a better media player in it? Does it support sort by filename or m3u playlists? |
