@drlynx - ya you entered the dial no alright i.e *99***1#.?
If you have a nokia handset go connectivity > GPRS modem and enter the correct APN of that service. The APN for mobile office is airtelgprs.com, for MMS is airtelmms.com and for AirTel live is airtelfun.com. In the last two APN you will be able to connect if you have those services but you will not be to surf.

Now to connect if you have a Sony Ericsson. The dial up no needs a change.

1. First go to connectivity > data accounts.
2. Select any profile and click more. Go to settings or something of that sort. At some point u'll see Externel ID. Note this id. Now simply replace 1 in the dial up no. with this externel id no.

I tried putting the apn as airtelgprs.com and connect, but even in my mobile it says GPRS not available.

My normal apn is airtelwap.com

With this i can access all sites from my mobile. but when I try to dial *99# from widcomm dial-up-networking, its not getting connected. BT icon becomes active on phone, but GPRS G is not getting activated. It stays passive.

To access full wap access on AirTel
1. simply activate AirTel live (free service)
2. Try opening any wap site like this one. U'll get an error like "access denied". Ignore this and immediately open it again when the connection has closed completely.
3. After few attempts it will open. Beleive me i am doing this for past few weeks.

Drlynx ya it won't connect. The airtelgprs.com APN will work only if you have mobile office activated on you phone. Ask correct APN of the service you are talking about from cc guys. I told those APN just as a example.
