Finally on holiday, and so is The Hobbster if memory serves me correctly. I'm so knackered. Some DVD's and curl up on the couch with the better half.
Accidentally dropped one of the bottles of SA wine (Beyerskloof) given to me as a pressie by one of my colleagues, while trying to carry too much at once into the house...
Kaka happens. Oh well, Tesco across the road have an impressive range of SA wines too.

@ tranced,
Oh OK, good thing it's on the latest firmware; it's turned the phone into what it should've been when it was initially released. Such a fantastic (and now stable) smartphone. I so nearly bought one too.
Have you taken any photos yet? Judging from the P990i pics that I see on esato, it certainly delivers.
There's quite a few free themes and walpapers on http://www.zedge.net and mobile9.com for the P990i.

congratulations tranced.thats awesome news dude i think that r6e28 is the latest you've got but i could be wrong.just do a search on esato to make sure.im still one firmware update behind because its the only firmware update available through seus for vodafone south africa.im not going to bother with updating though cause my phone is working just fine.have you turned your 'transitions' off? go to control panel>device>transitions>off (only turn off if you finding the phone is a bit slow.it makes quite a difference.so what are your initial thoughts?build quality?performance?ect ect....
@wanga unfortunately i got to work tomorrow.got about 2hrs work left to do.then im off till the 15th next year.absolutely fantabolous.im so tired and a well deserved rest is in order.booked up for next year so ive gotta get as much rest as possible before it all begins again.
@brix pop in here sometime for a quick cuppa java dude.you are sorely missed even though half the time you sound grumpy lol

@tranced do you have a router at home? if you do then here's the settings i used for my router to browse using wifi.
Step One - Go to 'Connections' in your Control Panel (you can also just click the little upright arrow in the left hand bottom corner of your screen, next to your signal bar and then click on 'Connection' and then 'WLAN')
Step Two - Click on WLAN
Step Three - Click on the WLAN arrow bar at the top of the screen and click on 'Enable Wlan'
Step Four - Press Scan (phone should pick up your router)
Step Five - Press connect (It will tell you before you can connect you have to set up an account, click YES)
THIS IS WHAT I PUT IN THE LINES FOR THE NEW ACCOUNT-
ACCOUNT NAME-wlan-ap
NETWORK NAME (SSID)-wlan-ap
AUTHENTICATION-I clicked on 'WPA-PSK'
NETWORK MODE- I clicked on 'Infrastructure'
(CLick arrow to progress to next page)
DATA ENCRYPTION-I clicked on 'TKIP'
PASSPHRASE-If you look at the bottom of your Router there is a sticker with a 12 letter/key WPA Pre-Shared Key.Type this number into this line.
If you tap on the WLAN Setup arrow bar at the top of your screen, you get TCPIP,Proxy and Advanced settings.I fortunately didnt have to change any of these.
Click Save
Now go through Step One to Five and it should connect.Happy WI-FI browsing.
Remember to use 'Internet' as your 'Use Preferred Group' and not your network provider group(eg in my case Vodacom Internet)
Go to 'Connections',click on 'Internet Accounts'
Click on 'Groups'
Click on 'Internet'
Put 'wlan-ap' as 'connection priority 1'
Click Save
All good to go..

@ Gucci,
Ya, and the middle-to-high end phones are generally still so much cheaper, even with that exchange rate...
BTW, the N82 has been on sale here for the past few days now, just in time for Christmas:

The UK's Carphone Warehouse has now got their own pay-monthly network, called Talkmobile. One of the options is called SIMple, a sim-only contract which you can pull out of with 1 month's notice. This is what you get:
50 minutes and 50 sms's for 6 a month, plus SA is included as one of the 60 international countries where you can phone out of your allocated minutes! Thus 1 minute to SA is the same as 1 minute here out of yor monthly bundle if phoning a landline, and 1 minute on a SA cellphone will take out 2 minutes per spoken minute from your monthly bundle.
Not too shabby for 6 (approx 84) a month...
