The device isn't big like Ultra, so the magnets should hold it even in that location I think... or it might be duo to weight balance ( top side might be heavier than bottom side ) or both reasons might be correct

Are we sure the 2 is the IR blaster? I mean couldn't it work even if covered with thin rubber? what if it is the Xenon and we were all fooled by Sony into thinking that the Xenon was absent??
Curious why would IR need a opening Could it be Xenon? and also the IR opening behind is pretty big.
But the camera portion is also bigger i.e Camera + Flash? .

Why wouldn't IR port have an opening? Won't the plastic cover block IR signal (or make it substantially weaker)?
I wouldn't have my hopes high on Xenon.

That hole is too small for a Xenon bulb to fit, and even if it really had a Xenon in it, it be too weak compared with those that have larger bulbs such as the old CS featurephones. I hope there'd be an accessory flash gun instead with its own battery and connects through NFC+Miracast.

Wouldn't be the first time I've seen Sony make a case that didn't account for everything on a phone. One of my friends bought the ZL and the case from Sony and it had no cutout for the IR blaster. We tested it in case it was built to let the signal thought, but it never worked with that case on.
Under a month until Honami announcement! Can't wait!

when does sony ever produce a soft case like that for their phones? they're usually made by a 3rd party who doesn't always cut out the right holes or match them up perfectly.
so, not having everything match up isn't really telling of anything. my guess is it's 3rd party and they are making the case to get a head start based on all the hype and interest in honami, designing the case based on proto images and guess-timations.

The case has an opening for the frequently used stuff. You won't see an opening for the MicroSIM slot, neither for the microSD. What you see is for the micro-usb only for data trasfer and charging. Not ever for the magnetic dock because you can't place the phone in the dock with case on.
This is from the practical point of view. If you keep the case full of wholes, then you limit the protection of the phone and the strength of the case itself.
On the otherhand at Alibaba site, you see lots of diffent scams, so take it with a pinch of salt. |
