That's what my point is. I don't see any sense using smartphone at 100% brightness.

Modern smartphones are capable of lasting a day at 100% especially if all you do is WhatsApp, take some calls, tweet and emails, a mate of mine uses his GS3 LTE at 100% brightness, was also shocked to discover this, but found that quite a few of them do it with their BBs and iPhones to, reason being they mainly text, take calls , tweets and do the odd bit of Instagram. Their phones sit on stand by a lot.

BTW samsung announces the the next version of galaxy S on 14th of march...hmm i wonder what would happen to Z's sales after that day

If you use your phone at 100% brightness DO NOT BUY 
March 1st week is the launch. Just figure it out if you ok with washed out brightness

People you don't understand, it is NOT a software issue! The screens are from bad quality!!!
I always using 50% brightness or less, but u see already this washed out colours...
I really like Z, but I hate that screen looking so poor and cheap... 
Results after my first battery charging:
Almost 2days standby and 5h screen on... Will beat it next days.
Ah and w/o STAMINA mode or something. I use my own mode...

Try to change device. It is available here in Russia from friday and there many users already.
Most of them are happy. Yes there are 2 different hardware screens. It is 100%

Today i have compare with my T to Z display at the store, only what i see is that the Z display is far more sharper and that the T display bit more contrast has. I think you have surly a faulty phone!!!
Get back to your phone shop and send him back for new one, your phone display is a faulty display. |

Don't worry I will send it back, but will wait then before I buy again... I said before, I am not the only one with this washed screen. Many others have the same problem...
Don't know what to buy after...
