Hello All, this forum has been really useful to me with my G900, but I have not been able to find the answers to a few questions I have. Hopefully I am not repeating anything.

First, is it at all possible to program the buttons so that I can go from a particular application to the home screen? I really just need one button that I can press to take me out to the home screen rather than relying solely on the 'back' button. This is especially annoying while listening to music and I want to access another application but I have to hit the back button 8 times to do it. If it's not possible to program it, is there a shortcut? Some combination of buttons or anything like that?

Second, when typing messages, is it possible to go back to edit particular words? Right now, when typing an sms, if you move the cursor back to the last word, it underlines it so you can put it in all caps or title case...but if I want to add an extra letter in the word or something, you have to type the entire word over. Is there a way to avoid this?

Third, also when typing an sms, I have it set to add new words to the dictionary automatically, but it doesn't. I actually have to manually add words into the dictionary, but even then, they're not recognized when I'm typing a message. Is it possible to edit the phone's dictionary to do this?

I've more, but I figured I'll start slow. I'm looking forward to contributing to the discussions in this fine forum.

cheers

hay d welcome to esato

1 - hold back button for 2 seconds

2 - use your finger or nail and tap just after letter you want to remove then tap delete

3 - try changing the settings. it should come up with a list of added words as you type just tap that word

Hi G900 users

i just bought a G900
was extremely surprised n shocked to realised it doesnt have this function
(other than # silent n flight mode)

just call SE to ask where is the profile function hidding
was told there isnt any profile function in SE symbian

to me, profile is kind of a very basic function
im a heavy profile switching user

**does anyone know where to download compatible profile for G900?

cheers n a merry x'mas

@raymolim

Are you referring to the 'standby application'? I think that's the closest the G900 comes to having different profiles. There's one for 'business' and 'default' and both can be edited as you wish.

Hope this helps.

Question - Okay if I wanted to update my firmware (HK Custom) on my G900 via SEUS, and I bought my phone online and I know its unlocked and unbranded, will my G900 still be unlocked after the update or will it become bricked? I need to know because I bought it off a dealer from ebay and I'm still on the old firmware R9L004

I am Happy with my G900 except it has stopped working which is a long story.

Bsically the touch screen stops and starts working, usually stops working for no apparent reason. Then it "usually" starts working after i get a phone call. quite annoying so i am gonna send it to the repair center in england but i weary that they are gonna charge me a mobm for fixing it?

I have bought the phone on 13th august and have only had it for 10 days now since i sent it back to the seller the first time it stopped working and only got it back recently.

Kinda dissappointed that i got a faulty unit
