@ Jojo,
LOL, maybe I should look into that as a career, but I have no qualifications in journalism...

I take a single bike mag's ratings with a pinch of salt. I always try read as many different mags/articles to see if there is any consistency in their judgements.
An example: Suzuki's best selling bike for 2007 is unquestionably Suzuki's GSXR1000. If it wasn't such a great bike, this would be very evident in the sales statistics. Wonder what Cycle World would say when presented with such data, and no there weren't any major incentives with any of the top 4 Jap producers, apart from Kawasaki throwing in a free set of Akrapovic exhausts with the ZX10R for a limited time.
Honda is the biggest by far and their build quality is generally very, very good. Their bikes tend to be well-balanced and civilised, compared to the raw appeal, less compromise approach of Kawasaki, etc.
Honda also pay the mags loads for their ads etc... how much is also 'donated' for favourable verdicts I'm not sure, but the media is a powerful weapon and the bike manufacturers know that only too well...

@ Jojo,
LOL, R2(D2)...and then French car manufacturer Citroen will bring out a Citroen C3(PO)...

With the Yamaha R1, the '1' refers to its capacity, ie. 1000cc, the '6' in the Yamaha R6 is a 600cc, but I don't think we'll see a R2 due to the unusual engine capacity that it would thus denote.
The Deltabox moniker on Yamahas refers to their type of aluminium frame and its constuction techniques, which they pioneered very well from the late '80's onwards.

Well matey, time for me to hit the sack; it's pretty late here and I'm really tired after taking the kids all over central London.
Have a good Thursday there, mate.
G'night.

There was coverage in the newspapers here yesterday of Zuma's victory. Might take a P1i pic of one of the articles later.

In other SA news, I see that 'French kissing' may be regarded as 'verboten' if you're under 16... I wanna see how they're gonna enforce this one, LOL:
http://www.theherald.co.za/herald/news/n07_20122007.htm

Can you imagine a headline like 'Sub-Sixteens Sentenced For Sucking Face' ...

EDIT: @ Gucci,
Thanks boet, I'll definitely check that out in August.

William Smith's dad was JLB Smith, who lectured at Rhodes in years gone by, and was the first to identify the Coelocanth (a fossil-type fish previously thought to be extinct). William inherited a nature reserve from his dad, the reserve being in the region of one of the heads; i'm not quite sure which. Last i heard he also owned a ferry service which takes visitors on cruises, which would explain why both of you bumped into him there, Gucci.

EDIT: Found a link, it's the Western Head http://www.knysnafeatherbed.com/history/history.htm

We're not at work today, as a good proportion of the kids at our particular school are celebrating Eid-Ul-Adha.
So tomorrow it's back to work and we close for the Christmas break on the same day, until 7th January.
Time to get that last bit of Christmas shopping done..

@ Jojo,
Just about to leave the house.
Yup, those Citroen Transformer ads are so well done. There's a few different ones (Transformer-themed) that they've done over the past year or two.

That stunt video is amazing! Wish I could perform stunts like those riders, and had the extra money to replace the poor, tortured suspension and high parts attrition etc that would occur form doing continuous stuff like that.
LOL, there's even a red Suzuki TL like mine (although mine's obviously that dark British racing green colour) doing some wheelies and 'rolling' doughnut stunts amongst the other bikes in the vid. Thanks for the links.
Gotta go now; will check in later.

Speaking of outdoors, the thermometer is reading 29 degrees Celsius at the moment.
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious.
